Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
Smooth, dark & dangerous, this ale is designed to warm the cockles of your heart whilst sitting round the ingle after a long, cold winters day outdoors. Although dark and robust, the aftertones of liquorice & blackcurrent make this an ale of complex character, not to be missed.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF, 2004] A nut brown beer with a beutiful light brown head. The aorma is very nutte, but also contains notes of roasted bread. The flavor is malty with notes of nuts, roasted bread, and a dry roasted finish.

Cask at GBBF08. Weak roasted aroma. Dark brown colour. Stable frothy tan head. Roasted flavour, some sourness. Roasted aftertaste. Thin to medium body. Sour, but OK.

Cask@GBBF04. Quite a nice dark ale in the Scottish style. Peaty, lightly smoky, with a touch of sweet caramel and dark fruit. Soft, smooth, malty mouthfeel, likeable.

Cask handpump, Market Porter. Ruby colour, thin beige head. Some dark fruit, bit ashey on finish. Some damson fruit flavour, some choc. It’s ok, lacks some depth and mouthfeel, but the fruit is fine.
