Pours golden with thin white head. Very little aroma. Tastes of hops, touch of grapefruit, quite floral. Not the most exciting beer but nice enough for a wee session.

Scopey (3380) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2012
Cask at Moorings, Aberdeen. It pours clear golden yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is straw, citrus fruit, floral notes and underlying sweetness. The taste is straw, grainy, sweet soft fruit (particularly pear), lime, lemon, grapefruit, light soap and honeysuckle, with a dry, citric finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and slightly syrupy mouth-feel. Flavour is pretty subtle. Not bad, just rather boring.

Pint at the Isis in Sunderland. Golden with a fine white head that laced down the glass. Floral aroma, fruity grapefruit flavour, nice bitter kick in the swallow. Lovely refreshing Summery beer, ideal for a long lunchtime session, or a fine summer evening.

Cask @ Golden Rule, Edinburgh
Golden amber, dense white head some lacing...Aroma - hint of herbal hop, slight sour note, not much on the nose...Taste - light caramel malts, lagerish bitter hops, slight herbal note, slight fruity grape, cereal malts...Palate soft carb, thinnish body...Finish rather dry.
Overall - Fairly ordinary golden ale, bit above average, ok

Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in July 2012. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear gold in colour with a thin creamy off white head. Slight yeasty bread note in the short aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a juicy citric bite of kiwi fruit and lychees at the start which quickly gives way to tart grapefruit. Dusty bitter hop resins give a citrusy aftertaste which is long in intensity. Finish is slightly dry and astringent with grapefruit pith full in the mouth. An ok Golden Ale but there are better out there - is this Kelburns answer to Fyne Ales Jarl?

On cask at the Scottish Real Ale Festival, 2012. Pours a dark golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of hibiscus flowers, lemon, Weetabix and caramel. Similar flavours and quite bitter with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. A little dry to finish with lingering lemon and biscuity malt.
