Cask, Edinburgh. Clear copper color, short off-white head. Aroma of hop. Bitter taste. Quite regular, nothing to get excited about.

Cask. The Old White Swan (Nicholson’s), York. Medium white head. Rusty body. Grassy hops, malt, toffee, spice. Bittersweet. Dry finish.

Hand pulled at the Shakespeare (Summer Row), Birmingham. Amber, mit slim cream top. Chocolate malt flavour - gently sweet. Easy drinking, without being massively flavourful. Pleasant sweet Bitter.

On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours amber with a proportionate head. The nose is fruity rather than biscuity, and this follows through to the taste. There is a little toffee too! The palate is medium bodied and textured, clean but just slightly. astringent on the end. Overall, solid but not amazing, a light summer bitter I think!

Cask. Creamy white good mostly klasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Cask @ The Dog and Duck. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, hops, fruits and malt. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Red beer that keeps its head well. Pleasant floral aroma, dry bitter hops with a faint grassiness about it. Nice session beer.

Hoppy aroma, similar in its taste but with a slight fruitiness, dry finish in the palate.

Tasted this at Chestnuts Hotel in Ayr on October 2002. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear almost luminous garnet red in colour with a thick creamy white head. Strong roast grain and berry fruit in the long aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malt gives a rich range of complexity with a fiery maltloaf base and soft pulped plums, black cherries and brambles. Strong metallic hop resins give a bitter dryness to the aftertaste. Finish is malty and sweet with vinous cask notes and a hint of elderflower. Superb Scottish session ale and well recommended.

Cask @ GBBF 2011. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty hoppy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter caramel finish.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Amber with a small off-white head. Fruity and grainy aroma with a bit of apple peel. Sweet fruity flavour with grassy hops and a nice, bitter finish
