Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 1 December 2009. I know very little about this operation other than they plan to open a brewery at the Keld Lodge Hotel in North Yorkshire but haven’t done so yet and the beers are currently brewed at Old Bear. I don’ t know what level of involvement the Kelda people have in the production process. Light mild. Light mouthfeel. Clean and - er - light. A little residual sweetness. OK. Decent example of a rare style.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Mid brown, thin beige head. It’s a pale mild. Very drinkable, very acceptable. Excellent example of the style.

Cask at the Pigs Ear festival ’09. Alround rating: Pale mild is an unusal beast and unusual for a reason, underhopped light golden bitters are not normally very good, this didnt break that trend. Pale and sweet malt, bit of berries and almond nuttyness. It needs hops.
