COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong beer is made according to the original recipe of Juan and Teodoro Kutz, the German master brewers who set up business in San Sebastian in 1890. The character of their birthplace can be found in the beer’s intense flavour: a genuine German method.

Keler 18, 1890ean Donostian finkatu ziren Juan eta Teodoro Kutz Alamanian garagardogileen tradiziozko errizeta jarraikus egindako aparteko garagordoa da. Bere zapore berezia bizitza biziki gozatu eta izaera duten pertsonak diren kontsumitzaileen nortasunarekin identifikatzen da.

Not bad for being a Pilsener, but with the features of a Lager. INteresting about it is from San Sebastián or DOnostia, in SPain, but it is brewed, at least now, by Damm. From Euzkadi to Catalonya. The description is in Vasque.

Consumed in San Sebastian, Basque Country, Northern Spain 04.07.11 Pours pale gold with a white head. Initially this is more about the sweet maltiness but some flinty flavours come through. Soft in the mouth, medium carbonation, not bad. A6 A4 T6 P4 Ov12 3.2

Bottle 250ml. Best of the Spanish mainstream, and the beer I grew up with :). Aromas of citrus and butter. Taste is sweet, with a touch of sourness, and a bitter finish. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Yellow, with a frothy head.

Bottle from a beer retailer in Barcelona. It pours a clear golden liquid with small-medium bubbly white foam that dissipates quickly. The aroma is very malty, resembling a watered belgian ale, with a hint of hops and kind of boozy. It tastes good: again, very malty and somehow watered down (it is a pale lager after all) as well as a little alcoholic aftertaste. It is medium bitter with average carbonation. It is not a special beer, but much better than average.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2012 330ml bottle. Pale gold colour, poor white head. Hoppy aromas. A mainstream lager beer, with some sweet palate, leading to a sweet finish. Have not seen it for many years, about 10, i came across it again on 2012. I found it now much sweeter than i remember.

<!-- i -->Bottled. San Sebastian, Spain.<!-- /i --><!-- br --> Golden body with a bright white head. Severed chillingly cold it was a lovely thirst quencher at the end of the day. Very little aroma (to be expected), simple malt balance. Short length on the palate.

Once produced in San Sebastian (my town), moved to arano (nice little town nearby) and produced now in Barcelona. direct competitor with Heineken in the town it is to watch soccer, go out with friends or quench your thirst when your are back from the beahc in the old part of the town. Nothing special but I like it.

330ml can - shared by estpivo - thanks
4 Very restrained aroma, very much in the pale lager vein.
2 Pale lager look, brief head
4+ Slightly ricey, a beefed-up pale lager. Keeps the 6.5% alcohol well hidden.
3 Thin palate, a touch sticky, and pleasant carbonation. Biting saaz-lilke hoppy finish.
8 A littlel like an ESL, but with less balls, and generally thinner.
