3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Bell Inn, Smalley. Pleasent gold colour, good hoppy nose, flavour is inferior to Pale Rider which is more fully developed blond.

On draught at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Golden coloured. Very hoppy aroma. Hoppy and fresh flavour with a dry and bitter finish. Refreshing, but a bit thin on the palate.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A bit bland, with some green hop character, but not much else of note. Rather thin. This is apparently a weaker version of Pale Rider for those who don’t want 5% alcohol in a quaffing beer. Unfortunately, much of the character seems to have been sacrificed too. Tastes as if it has been simply watered down. Cask (gravity), Catford Beer Festival.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2005 24/2/04 -Hand pulled at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham (during their week-long real ale promotion). Golden appearance, with no real aroma. Creamy, tasty ale, with a slight hop taste. Rather undramatic - gulp after gulp. Creamy head and likewise the lacing. Uncomplex. [2.2]. RE-RATE, 28/3/05 - Hand pulled at the Fountain, Lower Gornal, Black Country. Nice lemony bitter, with a balanced, soft quality. Not too aggressive, but nicely flavoured and swiggable hoppiness. Much better today than when previosuly smapled. [3.5]

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask Conditioned at The Anchor, Birmingham. Yellow beer with thin head. This is a thin watery tasting beer with little flavour to speak of, there is a strong green hop to pull it along though, which rescues it from really low scores.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[Cask at Stockholm Beer Festival 2003] The aroma is a nice slight hoppy one. The color is yellow and it has a small bubbly head. The flavor is slightly malty with a strong hop presence and straw flavors and notes of fruits. A nice pale ale.
