Cask; Regular. Originally a September 2006 special. Also available bottle conditioned.
A pleasant refreshing golden ale brewed with a blend of pale malts with a hint of crystal malt and roasted barley. The hops are selected from of the best of British fuggles and goldings supplemented with hops from the other side of the Atlantic. The sweet aroma is of incense and elderberry with hints of caramel spicyness for an unforgettable pint.

On cask at the Five Lamps (Derby)
I have almost run out of new things to try at the Five Lamps but this was at least something. A so-so beer was OK for a while but even before the half pint was empty I was ready to walk down to the next pub. This is an average beer on a great day; on a bad one it is just drinkable.

Aroma / Appearance - A golden bronze base sits idly in the glass. A wispy ring of head isn’t much help in salvaging a good look. Sweet cider sticks in the air but it feels half hearted. The worst part is the tang of pickle relish that feels way out of place.

Flavor / Palate - A light caramel bitterness almost salvages a forgettable first impression. Soft and bland it fades mercifully quickly. The tea like finish is not even as good as a well made glass of tea would have been. I found it hard to drink more than just a couple of ounces before tiring.

Not bad. Light copper pour, with a fizzy, fast disappearing head. Light nose. A bit sour at first, with some biscuit and metallic notes. Decent hopping as it warms. Nothing offensive and it all kind of works.
