Can from Casino Supermarket, Nice. Pale golden with next to no head and a small carbonation. Ordinary lager, tastes very familiar to many others. A touch dry in its aftertaste.

Geschmack leicht malzig getreidig, minimal herb.

50cl can @ snowboarding holiday in France. Clear yellow color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly bitter, a bit hayish. Average body and carbonation. Pretty standard but nothing really wrong with it.

500 ml can bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.

Piss-like golden yellow colour; Very thin head and residual white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Near zero lacing and barely notable carbonation; Quite pungent smell of malt, sweet corn, syrup, light liquorices and light grass; Very low sweet taste of malt, with light bread, light liquorices, faint citrus and light grass; Mid to light body, slighty thick palate; Taste profile somewhat reminds me of Furstenberg Pils, tastes a bit like a light weight Pils with full malt, no adjuncts and no foul taste but somewhat lacking in body, still richer than most macro pales. Okay. Hoppiness is low grass nose very faint citrus and bit if liquorices in taste, plus muted bitterness and no much astringency to finish. Pretty dry after taste, very easy to mouth.

Comments: This one is almost like Furstenberg Pils’ body double, with murky, strawy colours, some unwanted adjunct nose, and lacking bitterness to distinguish itself. I sound negative, but for a supermarket macro, this is actually a standout, and way better than subjecting yourself to the likes of Buds, Skol, and many other unbearable crappy macros. Recommended if you ran out of grocery shopping ideas.
