2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 heavy (1490) - Split, - JUN 29, 2011
06/05 Sampled from a 1l plastic bottle opened the day before on another tasting, great thanks ogivlado to bring it here to us! It poured brown body with medium sized ivory head. Very sweet caramel malt aroma. Completely different flavor, still malty, but quite dry, coffee and caramel are dominating. It would be better if it was not so thin, which makes it boring, but for me it’s still better than their blonde.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bunget (141) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 8, 2012
500ml plastic bottle. Light brown body with reddish tones. Small latte creamy head with low retention.
Aroma is sweet caramel, coffee, vanilla, toffee and honey. Smooth taste, burned caramel, malt, hops, aromatic herbs in the backstage. Strong hops aftertaste.
Non pasteurized beer with a shelf life of only 30 days is great, even in a plastic bottle. I think that’s the best dark Moldavian beer.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 ogivlado (4444) - Zagreb, CROATIA - MAY 13, 2011
brown plastic bottle 1000ml. -Reddish/brown coloured, small off-white head, buttery vinous nose with notes of rubber. Yoghurty and buttery sweet caramel taste with very sugary finish. Also some notes of dog food in the finish. Expected better.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Marko (3166) - Split, CROATIA - MAY 6, 2011
PET bottle again, courtesy of ogivlado who shared it with me and heavy. Poured a cola red body with a slightly off white head. Very sweet caramel nose. The sweet nose didn’t carry on that much to the taste, however, it was relatively dry, empty, with a distinct caramel note ending with some very light hoppy bitterness. An ordinary dunkel that I wish I could’ve tried fresh.
2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 rickgordon (3764) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 7, 2011
Pet bottle.
Dark copper brown colour, slight cloudy, with frothy off-white/pale yellow head. Butterscotch and vinegar in the nose. Flavourwise less dysfunctional with a pretty solid malt base; tad chocolate and red apples with a slight acidic note along with caramel. It’s pretty good and tasty, or at least would have been if it wasn’t for the oxidation caused by poor storing conditions or bad bottling procedures.

Chisinau Beer Parade, June 2003. Very dark brown color and light brown cocoa head. Caramelly and nutty aroma, caramelly, bitter flavor with hints of coffee and chocolate. Sweetish and bitter roasted finish.
