Malty, fruity, dry. Good for a hot summer day, and best served cold. Has a weak wheat body, and lots of fruit flavors. It’s alright.

Cityfresh Associated Supermarket, Bushwick growler: Pours pale yellow murk with white head. Aroma is light banana, citrus, spice. Taste is light wheatiness, with a slight sweetness and a bunch of spiciness. Not a very memorable beer, but what to expect from Kelso.

Called ’Kelso Wit’ at Momofuku Noodle Bar. Hazy blonde coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall, slightly soapy white head. Aroma of light spice, wheat, yeast, coriander seed, bubble gum and a hit of lemon and other citrus fruits. Medium-bodied; Nice wheat flavour at first with a perfect amount of spices, some mild yeast and banana notes and a bit of a honey sweetness at the end. Aftertaste shows a great balance of wheat, yeast and light spices with a nice sweetness and a cool finish - perfect for a spicy meal. Overall, a nice offering and despite not knowing it came from Heartland - a decent beer for sure. I sampled this pint on draught at Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York (East Village), New York on 13-July-2013 for US$7.00.

The aroma is fruit, yeast. The appearance is slightly hazy white/yellow, white head. The flavor is fruity, yeasty, peppery. The finish is watery, pepper, fruit. Medium/thin in body. Ok, not great.

Slightly hazy yellow color, small steady white head. Sticky, slightly tart, grassy aroma. Light-bodied. Crisp, some citrus, fruity but weak flavor. Dry coriander finish.

Draught at the Fette Sau, Brooklyn, NY. Served in a pickle jar.
Hazy yellow orange colour with small white head. Unfortunately I couldn’t smell anything since the place smelled like smokehouse. Wheat Ale. Some dryness, some spices and wheat in flavour. Some dry spicyness in aftertaste. Not the worst American Witbier.

Draft at fette sau with ling. Pours a cloudy, hazy yellow body with some white creamy lacing. Aroma is wheat, and lemon zest - similar to a hoegarrden. Mouthfeel is thinner and flavor is a bit watered down with similar notes of lemon zest, yeast and wheat.

Very cloudy pale yellow pour with a thick, tight head. The nose is softly lemony and wheaty. There is a bit of coriander, but it seems to have been used with a restrained hand. A little bit of light orange peel and a very unpleasant vegetal flavour. Sort of floury with a bit of light wheatiness. Yeasty and bready. It’s okay but kind of bland. Needed to be boiled a bit more aggressively to blow off some of that DMS. It moderates as you go through the pint, but it’s always there.

tap at Gingerman - light, refreshing. Caramel and peachy. medium bodied and very smooth. lightly hopped and maybe a bit underattenuated.
