BCTC. Pale reddish amber with ring. Funky barnyard hay tart aroma. Funky cherry tart hay with lingering funky dry finish. Soft effervescent light mouthfeel. One of the great surprises of BCTC. Excellent.

Microgrog growler and again at BCTC. This rocks. Just the perfect amount of sour and fruit for me. nice sour cherry flavor and aroma. Not too puckering just a joy to drink. Dry, sweet, and some mellow funk to complex things a bit.

Tap at RnH: I would compare this favorably with the Belgian lambics. Pours hazy red/ pink with no head. Sour/fruity tart. Strong cherries and hints of melons and other acidic fruits. The fizzy carbonation tingle enhances the tartness of the beer by adding a physical dimension to the flavor profile, which is nice complex. Finishes with some dry, yeasty funk. Yum.

On tap at the Kelso booth at BCTC. Pours a reddish brown with a thin white head. Brett, cherries, wood, and leather on the nose. Sour with a light bit of vinegar, but not much cherry flavor coming through. Finishes tannic with a light cherry follow through.

Growler shared by Adam (Microgrog) at the 3rd Cuvee de Castleton release: Pours hazy ruby with s wispy off white head. Nice bretty aroma- some leather and cherry pit character with a light almond sweetness from the cherries. Rounded carbonation. The flavor is pretty tart with a citric acidity- some earthy brett notes yet it has a soft fruit presence. Some cherry pit sharpness and leathery rustic character. A well done sour ale.

[2376-20090801] Sample. Doughy cherry fruit aroma hints mildly at wood cask. Hazy, light brown body with a quick bubbly white head. Solid woody cherry fruit flavour has sweet vanilla and a wood finish. Medium body is sour. Lovely sour.

From JW77...nice! Very fruity and lots of sour vinegar in the nose. A nice amber beer leads to really nice sour cherry notes. Some good barnyard notes as well. Good.

Poured a pinkish brown color with an off-white head. Light leather aroma with a touch of metal. Light on the fruit side. The flavor was tart with a taste of cherry skins. Not complex but tastes nice. Light bodied.

Tap at Studio Square. I’ve missed this beer several times now, so I was pretty glad to see this on the list now. Deep hazy pink pour with a light pink lace. The nose is fairly lactic and tart. A bit of cherry skin and a touch of light funkiness. Sort of tart and quite acidic. Lactic acid and a little bit of horsey funkiness. The acidity in here is really quite pronounced. Light lemon peel and a bit of light fruit. As it warms, the nose really opens up revealing a touch of cherry fruitiness. It’s pretty well-developed at this point. Bright lemon and a kiss of light spice. Really solid brew. I hope this is a harbinger of things to come from Kelso.
