Light sweet malt aroma. Light brown color with a small tan head. Moderate sweet beginning with a light bitterness late in the finish. Light palette.

Tap at Waterfront Ale House. Clear brown/dark copper with a mostly diminishing fizzy head. Faint malt aroma, flavor of toasted malt, honey, pecan with a slight hop back. A little soapy on the finish. Started out with a light to medium body, refreshing and tasty, but seemed to flatten out very quickly and ended rather watery. Not terrible, but not inspiring.

On tap at the Waterfront Ale House - a decent dark lager, especially for a Heartland product - munich malts are very prominent, and an unexpected, woody, smokey quality makes thing interesting - the finishing hop combination is questionable, making an almost soapy finish.

Pours dark brown, smells of nuts, and roasted barley. Nutty, rich malt flavor with a pack of hops leaving for a crisp finish.

Draught at the Fette Sau, New York, NY.
Dark reddish amber colour with small creamy off-white head. Mild malty aroma with sugary sweetness, brown sugar and nuts. Toffee and sugary sweetness, sweet maltiness and mild nuttiness in flavour. Too sweet for me.

This is served as the house Nut Brown at 5 Napkin Burger in Astoria, Queens. It’s sweet, golden brown, malty, nutty and a bit thin. It’s decent for a house beer. Not bad at all.

Clear, tea colored, thin applesauce head. Woody, musty lagerish aroma. Dry, fizzy, woody malting, light char or coffee. Thin bodied, but chalky. Finish is musty, moderately heavy bittering. Aftertaste is parched wood. Nice tap handle. On tap, Ginger Man, NYC, 3rd PBWT trip.
