3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2010 Cask gravity at Bedford BF í09. Very attractive bright amber. Interesting aroma with raisins and faint cocoa malt. Odd malty taste which made me think of chewing Swan Vesta match heads when a child. As you do. Strange how tastes recur years later. Mid bitter finish. Peculiar beer. 7.10.10 Cask at Pilgrims Progress (JDW) Bedford. Slightly sour grapefruit aroma. taste is similar. Mid bitter finish. Ordinary. The wizard in the picture is going to be slightly disappointed when he necks this brew. Rating: 5,4,6,3,11:2.9

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask-conditioned at the Cornish beer festival, The Star, Bath 19/7/08. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of red fruits and some citrus hops. Flavour had some sweetness to start, with fruity malts and a long, complex aftertaste of oranges, crystallised fruit and comforting bitterness. Very good.
