Clear red brown beer, beige aery head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, dried fruits, raisins, sweet ripe fruits, peaches, chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of dark chocolate, mocha, dried fruits, a sweet touch. Aftertaste: caramel, dried fruits, bitter hops. Very good dubbel!

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2012 33cL bottle. That’s what’s up. Great aroma, beautiful appearance, powerful taste, palate is just a bit dry. It’s a true belgian, through and through.

Bottle at home. Murky brown pour, tan head. Aroma is sugary malts, roasty, spicy, licorice and caramel. Flavor is quite sweet and spicy. Bitter in the finish. Nice thick body and lively carbonation.

Aroma is sweet with brown sugar, dark fruits and hints of apricot. Flavour has lots of apricot, orange peel, some brown sugar and dark fruits. Warming alcohol in the finish. A bit too sweet but decent anyway.

Ambrée/cuivrée, col épais ocre.
Arôme léger malt grillé, léger houblon.
En bouche, malt avec un profile caramel/grillé sur un ton houblonné et fruits noirs.
Alcool reste en retrait, le tout gardant ce côté malt pils/cara avec en retrait un ajout de houblon peut être américain? tout en gardant ce profile belge.

Pours murky dark orange color with small head. Aroma o
ripe fruits, sugar candy, caramel malts and mild spices. Flavour of ripe fruits like plums and raisins, sugar, caramel malts, spices and syrup. A bit sweet but the balance is quite good. Fruity and and malty sweet.

33cl bottle. Pours a clear reddish-brown with a thick offwhite head.
Smells initially of hard candy; sweet malt, with caramel and some fruity notes with some peat as well.
Tastes a heavy sweet with a very mild bitter, and a fair amount of peatiness.
Finishes a bit cloyingly.
It’s nice, but it’s more of a candy than a beer while cold, and when warmer is a bit of a very interesting syrupy-sweet whiskey.
