2nd of 3 in the series. Nice light aroma and drinks pretty easy - easygoing palate. A bit more bitter than Id expect and this lingers in the finish longer too long.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2014 Beautiful dark reddish brown colour, foamy beige head. Bitter chocolate and roasted malts, sweet raisins and light red wine-like acidity. Medium carbonation, medium body, bitter aftertaste and dry mouthfeel. Not too memorable.

(Kempisch Vuur 3 Dubbel (Pirlot)) Stubby bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tulip glass, ABV 7.5% Light brown colour, transparent, clear body, with a small tan head on top. Okay retention, minimal lacing on the glass. Nice aroma, caramel, chocolate, light roasted malts, raisins. Taste follows, dark fruits with raisins and a bit of prunes, sweet malts, chocolate, some spices. Nice bitterness on the aftertaste, with long duration. Medium thin body, with good carbonation. Very nice dubbel!

33cl Bottle from Prik&Tik Pauwels. Deep reddish brown colour, beige head. Aroma of cinnamon, ginger, chocolate, dark fruits, its nice but somehow seems off as well, like a starting infection. Flavour is medium sweet, raisins, light roasted malts, cinnamon, ginger, ground cloves, hint of coffee, bittersweet finish with some light-tart dark fruits. Medium-bodied at best. Nice dubbel.

Alengrin (2742) - BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2014
Dark counterpart of Kempisch Vuur Tripel, with a deep bronze colour and thick beige head. Aroma malty, coriander, chocolate, ginger, cinnamon; full malty taste, dried fruits, spicy like most of this range (ginger, cinnamon), Tomahawk hop bitterness in the finish along with roasted bitterness - which I have nothing against, its just that they are used too commonly in dark Belgians nowadays, especially by the small brewers.
