33cl bottle. pours a hazy straw yellow with fine--pored generous head, not the only qualities it has in common with Duvel. Tasty is both fresh green apple peel, faint citrus and a distinct unpasteurised eggwhite aroma. Hard to distinguish the amount, let alone all sorts of the 5 hops used, but they cannot all be belgian. Most are crisp, grassy and imparting shy lemon peel notes, but I’d swear there is Citra in it too. Dry, rather light and crisp mouthfeel. Straightforward pale/pilsner malt structure, one-dimensional. Thankfully lowish ABV for a Belgian ale, hence extra points for helping to found a long-due nouvelle vague of sessionale tasteful ales to add some lighter alternatives to Duvel&Co wallops.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a large creamy white head. Some small impurities. Light flowery and herbal, grain, straw, a little late alcohol. Medium body, oily/watery texture, medium carbonation. Ok mouthfeel, good lasting light bitter finish.

markextrae (1835) - NETHERLANDS - APR 28, 2015
Shared sample at ZBF 15. Poured a more clear yellow colour with a white head. Sour fruit notes, citrus, hay, grains, floral hop bitterness, bit of a weak taste, overcooked hops. Meh

Hazy golden color with a nice white head. Aroma is sour like passed grapes, not my beer style. Flavor is yeasty and malty quite refreshing a little bit better than aroma. Low carbonation with dry sour finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone 4S

Spicy, fruity aroma with plenty of hops that manages to intrigue, but does not appeal much to my tastebuds. There was something in the aftertaste that reminded me of urine... Maybe I should blame the waittress, because it was from tap. She did take a little detour to the toilets. Very bitter finish. I salute the effort, but it’s not for me

Golden coloured brew, ok head. A bit unpleasant mouthfeel, sharp bitterness, and some sourness that gets trough. Expected more from this beer.

Swaroga (1660) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 30, 2013
33cl bottle. Clear golden/yellow with big head. NOSE : moderately intensive aromas of fresh yeast and hops like peach, citrus zest, soap. Sweet cereals, lactic aromas. SIP : creamy with decent carbonation. Sweet cereal start with fruity and soapy background. Gets for a moment acidic but transforms quickly into dry and bitter flavors like lemon seed. The bitterness goes deeper in the finish and even more in the aftertaste. Interesting how it evolves. After couple of sips the bitterness getting more and more strong. OVERALL : interesting beer. Hop aromas are moderate but the bitterness is deep and getting stronger with every sip. It really pushes me to take another sip to get some of that malt sweetness but since it gets more bitter each time I have to accelerate with my sips. Nice.
