Pours an opaque brownish-black from the bottle, with frothy brown head and moderate lacing. Aroma is faint, but mostly chocolates and roasted malts. Taste is much more intense, chocolate, mint, great malts. Very great balance, nothing really jumps out, and alcohol is well hidden. Great stuff.

Bottled, dark brown suede color, with no head, aroma of chocolate and some mint, flavor is intense dark chocolate and some marshmallow creme, great dense chocolate finish

Black pour with a khaki head. Nose is mint chocolate ice cream, light cookie, dry, and more mint. Very nice on the palate, heavy cookie, backed by mint, cocoa, great finish.

Bottle. Pours black with chocolate head. Aroma is interesting and very pleasant, notes of mint actually come first immediately followed by dark roasted grain and baking cocoa. Flavor is aggressive dark roast, espresso, malt, baking chocolate and mint with a strong dark roasted bitterness, not very sweet. Heavy body with silky mouthfeel and low-medium carbonation. Overall, very interesting, tasty, big beer.

From a 12oz bottle. Poured a pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of mint notes, with some chocolate characteristics popping through. Minty, chocolate chip notes - a lot less disgusting than I expected since I haven’t had good experiences with mint in beers before this. Alcohol is really well masked.

First thing I noticed with this beer was the head. Pored less then a finger worth. Dark tan with a slightly pink tint. The smell is deep. Chocolate. Menthol. Cigar Tobacco. Sweet Pipe tobacco. Backwoods sweet cigars. Licorice. Also has an oak component that chills in the background. The taste is chocolately, menthol, Pipe tobacco, that Backwoods sweet cigar taste is back. Cinnamon. Cloves. Resinous with a tanic mouthfeel. The mint is never really the star of the show. I can’t imagine it could be any more pronounced without being overbearing.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Chocolate mint aromas. Thick with dark chocolate and espresso upfront turning to mint before the lasting chocolate truffle finish.

12 oz bottle from BevMo, Livermore. Nose is chocolate, light mint notes, and a hint of roasty coffee. Black with a medium, lightly lacing, cinnamon tan head. Flavor is very much a chocolate mint with light bitterness and white pepperiness. I would love to see this tweaked with a little cayenne or chipolte. Finishes lightly bitter.

Nice black pour with a dark tan head. The aroma reminds me of thin mint girl scout cookies, but something about the mint is forced, a little too much extract. The flavor is pretty spot on what you would expect from a mint chocolate perspective, strong chocolate flavor with an even stronger mint presence. Medium body for an Impy Stout but it has a lingering tingle from the mint that hides the high alcohol content. I didn’t know what to expect from this beer but I give it an "A" for creativity and an "A-" for execution.

Pour is viscous and black, with a substantial dark tan lace - nose is all bittersweet dark chocolate and fresh mint leaves, along with a light bit of earthy char/roast - low carbonation - slick mouthfeel - flavor is intensely bitter and charred up front - far too much so - thankfully the dark chocolate and mint from the nose arrive later, but not until the bitterness has assaulted the palate - thankfully, the chocolate and mint are all that are present in the finish, so it ends on a strong note - decent, but the one unpleasant bit.
