3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 glennmastrange (1888) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of toasted and dark chocolate, light resin for the hops, moderate earth for the yeast with a hint of vanilla and maybe a touch of mint. Head is small, frothy, light brown with fair lacing and good legs and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is full, creamy to syrupy, with carbonation between soft and lively, and a finish that’s chalky and lightly alcoholic. Right there with the other top Imperial Stouts, with just a touch of uniqueness.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Bottle:   Black, huge frothy dark beige head, nice lacing.   Pale roasty nose, some sweet herbal notes, very pale mint and tea leaves.   Oh boy, on the tongue its a very smooth rich malty and roasty tongue, with a more noticeable mint presense.   its like a Mint Chocolate beershake.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Hides its 9.6% very well.   Sweet chocolate like milkshake finish, with hints of mint and tea leaves.   Very much a dessert beer.   If it were a bit heavier it would be even more authentic towards a beershake.   As is, tasty!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Snojerk321 (2970) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Pours a dark black with a thin beige to tan head. Smells initially like thin mints, but then picks up a slightly more herbal and medicinal tone. Cocoa, roast, mint, coffee. Warm brownies but a bit empty, moves into a grassy herbal flavor. Chocolate, roast, minty into the finish. Starts off great but goes downhill quickly.

I liked this sweet stout quite a bit, and really like that it’s tied with a "homebrewer"

Wow the aroma is just as the name says. It smells like liquid dessert. I could smell this brew all day long. The taste is nice and roasty malty bitter. Sits black in the glass with a deep brown head and brown lacing down the glass. I cant get enough of this.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 elihapa (1487) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - FEB 25, 2013
10/29/12 notes: bottle. Aroma of spearment, peppermint patty, dusty dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is slick, lightly carbonated with medium heft. Average length finish. Flavor is big upfront minty spiciness, rounded with slightly smoky, baker’s chocolate. Bit of graininess near finish, mint recedes slightly and more dark barley assumes its place. Hmmm, I can’t seem to get past how jarring the flavors are. Well-brewed from a technical standpoint, less successful, in my opinion, from an “enjoyability” one.

Typical roasty, deep dark coffee Imperial but with a fresh mont leaf taste running through it..always there..weaker at the start and stronger at the end..were also the chocolate ( milk) tatse comes to the fore..like a good quality chocolate chip and mint ice cream!
Luxurious palate creamy chocolaty minty smooth
Great dessert beer
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Prufrockstar (200) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Draft 4oz taster. Aroma is mint and bittersweet chocolate, like a (cold) mint hot chocolate. Nearly black color with foamy tan head. Chalkiness on the palate immediately. Borderline harsh mint, bitterness, with chocolate in the finish. Big chocolate finish with lasting bitterness. Not nearly as sweet as the nose suggested. Full body, light carbonation, texture which is both oily and unpleasantly chalky. Overall: 4oz pour was just right -- a perfectly fine beer, but with a lot of richness that comes together in a way that I just don’t know what place it holds for me.
