Bottle from summer secret santa (ragesaq). Pours dark brown with tan head. Aromas of chocolate, coconut, coffee, roasted malts and vanilla with some nuttiness. Similar flavors. Very tasty. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Aaron.

12/7/2009 Finally found one of these elusive creatures, but pricey at 9 dollars for a 12 oz bottle. Pours a solid black with a two finger mocha head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Smells of fudge, chocolate and coffee mostly. Slight dark fruit in the background. Traces of vanilla and alcohol round out the nose. I donít pick up any coconut or macadamia in the aroma. Taste is coffee and dark chocolate up front, bitter roast that melds into coconut, finishing semi dry with a long lingering roasted grain and coconut finish. Creamy sticky mouthfeel, thick body with a semi dry finish, light carbonation. I really enjoyed this one. I was a little nervous because I really hate coconut, but its subtle enough in here that I could actually appreciate it and I think it works really well.

Fuck, the name of this beer is a mouthful. Bottle thanks to atom. Brown in color with some burgundy highlights. Small khaki head. Nuts are the strong aroma up front with some toasted coconut also being present. Roasted malt character gives this a slight roast coffee aroma, too. Taste is sweet like toffee, slight coconut, nuts, and boozy warmth round this out. The strength of the booze in the finish is a bit off putting even after drinking some Angelís Share before this. It just seems a little out of place in this beer. Full bodied, and fairly thick.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with some jet black highlights and an off white head. Big aroma consisting of chocolate, coconut, molasses, nuts, roasted malt, and a tad of coffee. The carbonation is on the softer side of things, which allows some of silk to become apparent on the body. Upfront, is some sweet, yet dry, roasted malt followed by some toasty coconut, toffee, lactose(?), and burnt sugar. Nice aroma, decent mouth feel, all around solid.

bottle, huge chocolately. nutty aroma, that fills the senses. Huge delicious aroma that leads to this amazing flavor that this beer posesses. Milk chocolate, nuts, mild roastiness, medium mouthfeel. Awesome porter, would love to try on draft

12 oz bottle that I randomly picked up in NYC after never seeing it here. Poured a nice dark brown with reddish highlights and a small tan head. Smells of coffee up front, followed by a rush of coconut and some traces of nuttiness in the background. The taste starts out with an initial rush of coffee, but as it sat while I played some Rock Band the flavor flowed into a lovely mix of coconut and chocolate, which was very reminiscent of a Mounds bar. Sadly the macadamia nuts never really came through, but that is my only complaint about this delight of a brew.

At a tasting, thanks YK23, bottle, pours very dark brown with dark brown head, dominant aroma of strong roasted coffee, coconut taste, sweet taste on the tongue, flavor fills your mouth, and overall a creative and excellent cooperation produced a delicious beer.

Bottle from Bev 4 Less: Poured a dark brown color with a fluffy development of foam as the head. Sort of hard to pick up any scents other than the minor notes of coconut and lightly toasted malts in the faint and distant background. As for the flavor, it seemed more gentle and subtle than I had been expecting due to all the hype surrounding this beer, but it does have some qualities I like. There is a tasty blend of Kona coffee along with a faint taste of coconut while I can barely taste the macadamia nut. I just ate macadamia nut cookies yesterday, so the flavor of them are very fresh in my mind, however, I donít really find that same flavor in the beer unless itís the aftertaste. Iím glad I didnít buy more than two bottles of this stuff because itís over hyped in my opinion and expensive too.

Tasted on 2/18/11 from a 12oz bottle purchased at Sun Devil, I know that this one has some age on it. Pours very dark, but still clear brown, almost like the color of coffee, with a thick off-white head that settles pretty quickly into thin lace with a decent collar. The nose is primarily earthy roasted coffee, with a ton of roast, and the macadamia nut and coconut both coming through in more of a toasted way. The flavor is pretty much the same as the nose with the coffee and roasted notes coming through strongest and the coconut and macadamia nut both still present in a toasted manner. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long roasted coffee and toasted coconut and macadamia finish.
