4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with honey highlights and a dense brown head. Rich aromas of fresh darkly roasted espresso beans, milk chocolate, and roasted nuts. Flavours of intense fresh ground coffee, char, chocolate, roasted nuts, molasses, and earthy wood. There is a vague vegetal character that comes into the finish, presumably from the coffee. Finish is nice and bitter. Exceptional!

pours brown, light beige head.
aroma of coffee, roasted malts, hints of caramel, hops, did not pick up too much coconut.
flavor, intense coffee flavor, chocolate malts, med-high carbonation. Drinks easy, with coffee written all over it. As with the aroma, the coconut was hard to pick up.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to womencantsail! Pours black, opaque brown around the edges, with a gray brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has main notes of roasted malts and espresso with underlying coconut and macadamia. Flavor begins with coffee but coconut builds towards the finish with just a hint of macadamia.

Bottle at Paul’s tasting. Pours a deep black with a thin beige head. Jalapeno, coconut shell, roast. Medium bodied, burnt coconut, roast, malt. Lingering strange sweetness with a bit more soft fresh coconut flesh. Perplexing.

Bottle from bhensonb. This opaque brown beer poured with a rich tan head and a fragrant coffee aroma. There is a complex flavor comprised of chocolate, coffee coconut and roasted malt. All the tastes blend very nicely to create a dessert-like drink that is an absolute pleasure to imbibe. Thanks Bill.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle, $7 from Dutch’s bottle shop. Very dark brown color, a minimal brown head. Light, smooth carbonation, nice roasty aftertaste. Really interesting, complex, and deep aroma. Some clarity. Great aroma... Awesome but not overpowering coffee, some sweet roastiness, and some other stuff in there... Very tasty and drinkable brew. I wish I had much more of this ( I’m envious of the collaborators [as I picture them] drinking this stuff by the case, as they enjoy the beautiful Maui weather ). Roasty sweet taste, with some good coffee bitterness. Another fantastic Stone collaboration. A six-pack of this stuff would be what dreams are made of.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Nearly black, super dark brown, moderate to large beige head frothy, nice lacing.   Sweet
roasted malt nose, slight coconut and cocoa.   Sweet nutty caramel infused cocoa and coconut chocolate goodness on
the tongue.   This is quite tasty.   Hop aspect is low.   Sweet start, coconut and cocoa, has a bit more
hop bite on the backside.   Not heavy, not light, feels just right.   Has a smidgen of chocolate covered
cherries at the exit, at least the sweet bits within a chocolate covered cherry.   Very slight alcohol presense.
Pretty good stuff!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12. Another 60 cents an ounce release in a schmancy black and gold bottle with a triangle on it. Again, maybe not quite worthy of these prices, but certainly a very fine beer. Pours a flat matte black with a loose, sudsy dark tan head that leaves webs of stringy lace on the way down the sides of the glass. Nice big roasty kona coffee nose. I’ve always found kona coffee to be just a curiosity as coffees go, rather than a real satisfaction, but that sweet nuttiness is just working in concert with other things here, rather than trying to convince you it’s a satisfying cup of coffee, so, here, it’s pretty freakin’ awesome. There’s actually even a bit of char underneath here. The body shows some medium depth, with just the softest, cottoniest carb. There’s toasty coconut, there’s roast and char, there’s sweet nutty coffee. It’s rich and decadent and delicious. Good stuff.
