Bottle at Paulís tasting. Pours a deep black with a thin beige head. Jalapeno, coconut shell, roast. Medium bodied, burnt coconut, roast, malt. Lingering strange sweetness with a bit more soft fresh coconut flesh. Perplexing.

Bottle from bhensonb. This opaque brown beer poured with a rich tan head and a fragrant coffee aroma. There is a complex flavor comprised of chocolate, coffee coconut and roasted malt. All the tastes blend very nicely to create a dessert-like drink that is an absolute pleasure to imbibe. Thanks Bill.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2014 "itís rare when a beer youíve built up exceeds expectations, and since Stone is my favorite brewer, hopes were sky high for this one. not to worry, though, it did not disappoint. one of the best, if not THE best, porter that iíve ever had. the aroma was incredibly rich and decadent. coffee, chocolate, roasted malt...with flavor to match and a wonderfully smooth full body. Awesome, awesome, awesome beer!"

Courtesy of jdubFL. Pours deep mahogany with thin off white head. The aroma has dusty dark coffee, burnt malts, some black strap molasses and coconut. The taste has up front coconut moving into coffee, chocolate and black strap molasses. Pretty nice porter.

12 ounce bottle shared by footbalm, thanks man! Pours a pure black color with a small beige head. The aroma is awesome; sweet milky chocolates, and loads of coffee, light tropical notes. The flavor is great; rich milky coffee, loads of sweetness, light nutty and tropical coconut flavors. Super smooth and tasty. Enjoyable.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium sized frothy tan head. This has a wonderful coffee aroma but that is pretty much it. The flavor, again, has a prominent (and very nice) roasted coffee component. There are mild hints of cherry and other dark fruits. I am searching for the other components, coconut and macadamia nuts, with little success. Medium bodied with an oily feel. I do like this, but had hoped for more of the other flavors to come through a bit more.

12oz bottle. Poured deep brown with a medium-hued tan head. The aroma picked up sweet iced coffee accented by coconut flakes, vanilla, and bakerís chocolate.. as it warmed up, lightly-salted macadamia nuts graced the outskirts of the nose.. this was sweet and just as advertised, thankfully keeping the coconut in check (coconut is terrible), and even somewhat complementary. The flavor found burnt coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and vanilla sweetness at the core.. toasted coconut was laced throughout, approaching a level of "too much" for my liking.. the macadamias didnít provide much character aside from some cookies on the back-end.. finished with dry-roasted coffee, chocolate, and toasted coconut. Heavier-bodied and very dry on the palate, despite a solid amount of sweetness.. balance was very, very solid even though there was a lot going on here.. long, memorable finish. Excellent stuff!

Bottle. Deep brown with a beige head. Roasted malt aroma with loads of coffee and a solid nutty sweetness. The flavor has coffee up front, and a lighter nutty sweetness. Lightly bitter roasted finish. Very good.
