Angeloregon (1549), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 29, 2007 From a bottle purchased at natural foods store in Bethel, Maine. Slightly fruity and mildly malty nose. From a bottle appeared light copper-golden in color with moderate carbonation. Slightly piny and floral but not nearly enough. English in character. Sessionable and unsubstantial. Dickinsonbeer (2480), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2006 Pours a moslty clear straight copper and a very thin lasting off white head. Aroma is very tea-like, floral, slightly earthy, with a light crystal malt balance. Flavor is tea, slight metallic, light crystal malts, toast malt, herbal hops, light astringent and bitter finish. I remember liking this better a couple years ago when I first had it. porterhouse (892), Alna, Maine, USA Sep 11, 2006 (Bottle) Pours a very clear coppery amber with about 1" of creamy biscuit head. Aroma of very light caramel, bit of flowery hops, hint of vanilla. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, bit tingly. Some sloppy heavy lacing. Taste is moderate to heavy bitter with very light caramel maltiness. Finishes fairly bitter with some flowery hints. Bit of a metallic aftertaste. Pretty good but not very meaty. This must be quite filtered. cazort (325), San Diego, California, USA Sep 4, 2006 This beer was noticeably weak for an IPA. I was hoping for more bitterness. I also wasn’t too happy about the quality of the hops...there aren’t that many hops, but what is there doesn’t blend well and tastes a bit like it was thrown in. Even though it’s not very bitter, I would say this beer tastes unbalanced. The malt flavour is ok, it’s not too sweet, and it has a tad of complexity to it. Overall, this beer is perfectly drinkable, but it’s nothing special. Casteel420 (59), Bristol, Virginia, USA Aug 23, 2006 Not the best IPA, but alot better on tap (as the case with most IPAs). Very thin body and head, but tasty and pretty strong, with a nice bitter aftertaste.
