kassner (115), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA May 16, 2008 At Federal jack’s on tap. Golden Color, nice lacing, a little too carbonated, clean finish and as many of their beers nice buttery notes at first kimcgolf (656), Dacula, Georgia, USA Aug 3, 2007 This wasn’t a bad beer, but it’s a shame to call it a bitter. Poured to a nice copper color with off-white head that lingered awhile and left okay lacing. Aroma was slightly hoppy and grainy, but not nearly as dominant as I expect of a bitter. Likewise, the mouthfeel was muted, and the flavor was only mildly grainy hops.
Finish, while okay, was not nearly what I expect from an ESB. Not a bad session beer, just not a good ESB. Bien ordinaire! wilkie (1045), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Mar 28, 2006 Draught. Copper colored, small white head. Slight hop aroma. Flavor is similar, lightly malty, bready, ligh finish. Slight water in finish. Kind of dissapointing. BrewDad (1553), Olympia, Washington, USA Feb 12, 2006 [Tap] A great beer with a sotry to tell all the kids. only missed the President by 30 minutes and got a leaf from his yard with the help of the secret service. If they are a secret why can I see them? Good color, flavor and aroma.
