Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Nov 6, 2003 Copper-coloured; Earthy, butterscotchy palate and aroma. Slight grassiness. Simplistic rating for a simplistic brew. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Sep 5, 2004 Updated: Sep 7, 20042004 draught at KBC in ME. Pours a light coppery/straw golden yellow. Small white head. Aroma is crisp, yet quite hoppy and lightly metallic. Flavor has hints of grain and a very high bitterness for the relatively lacking malt aspect. Drank it down quickly, but it just didnt have any balance or interesting aspects. Good medium to medium full body, but just to americanized pale ale tasting. This tastes nothing like an english bitter. Way too hoppy/metallic/acidic. beerbuzzmontreal (2747), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 8, 2005 On tap at Federal Jacks. Clear golden color with a thin white head. Weak aroma of hops and malt. Decent flavor of floral hops and caramel. Light to medium body, creamy texture. Spiesy (2331), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Jan 5, 2004 Cask, at Federal Jack’s, Kennebunk, Maine. Amber with only slight lacy head. Crisp, clean and well balanced. The beer was very refreshing and well constructed. Smooth finishing palate. Vac (2253), San Diego, California, USA Dec 30, 2002 Deep golden color, little head and some lace.
