COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after Kensington Market’s (in)famous fishmongers on Baldwin Street, FishEYE is a bold and assertive India Pale Ale. We use 4 different varieties of American hops and a heavy dose of caramel malt to create a pleasantly balanced hop-forward IPA. FishEYE-PA pairs well with a burger, spicy Indian food and sharp, strong cheese.

Not exactly my go-to IPA but it holds it own and it is just a fine tasting beer regardless of style. Curious be the smell, leather basement and pine. Not at all your typical IPA but seeing as I have had more of that style than any other it is refreshing to challenge the norm. Tastes of honey, pine, some alcohol and caramelised grapefruit. A nice medium body and mid-soft carbonation with a slightly slick feel help this enjoyable IPA down.

Quite a different take on an IPA compared to others I have had. Poured a hazy copper colour with frothy off white head that stuck around the whole time. Aroma was of leather, earth, and pine. Tastes of big pine, resin, moss, but also had a strong caramel malt backbone. Had a medium slick mouth feel with a refreshing bitterness near the end. The malt stood out quite a bit, but I did enjoy the piney and resin taste from the hops instead of the tropical citrus taste that I am use to. It kind of felt like an old IPA all earthy and what not.

Highly disappointed. Heard many great things and tasted mostly only bitter. No enticing aroma that im used to with IPA. Maybe I had an off batch

Orange-amber, fairly clear, white head. Smells like peppery hops, citrus and pine with sweet bready malt. Sweet malts on the taste, balanced bitterness. More of a malty IPA, less hops than expected, but still a good beer.

Cloudy dark amber. Thin head. Aroma is a little bit of indistinct fruity hop. Taste is a balance between slightly orangey hop, leafy hops, and a rich maltiness that is fairly pronounced in its toastiness.

BIg can. Looks amber. Aroma of floral and lightly piney hops plus a good amount of caramel malts and some light dough. Flavor the same with a decent amount of hops. Average texture. A decent IPA, but could be hoppier and a little less malt presence.

Can: Poured a clear copper color ale with a rather large foamy head with average retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of dry caramel malt with light bitter hoppy notes. Taste is also dominated by some dry caramel malt with some hoppy bitter notes that are not as powerful as I would have expected. Body is light with good carbonation. Too much dry caramel malts for its own good with hops that fell way short considering the style.
