Aroma: toasted malts, nutty, dried fruits. Appearance: clear, dark brown, small, white, frothy head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: light bitters are noticeable, otherwise malts again, fruity. Overall: OK Brown Ale, Not too keen on the palate. Pint at Crown&Anchor, Brixton

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. An attractive cherry red colour with a loose beige head; earthy aroma; earthy malt taste with a touch of caramel; pleasantly bitter, with a lingering leafy finish. Very enjoyable in the pub garden on a spring evening.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell, London. It pours an unclear dark ruby color with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, lightly bitter and dry, medium sweet and caramel, cocoa. Taste is medium sweet and lightly bitter, well balanced, with notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla, wood, roasted grains, coffee, tangy red berries and citrus in the finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, nice brown ale

Cask @ Craft Beer Co - Covent Garden, Holborn WC1. Pours a dark amber ruby color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with hints of dark fruit. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Drank at the Just Reproach, Deal, Kent. Slightly thin in texture, but tasty, slight caramel, chocolate hints. Small white heads, disappears quite quickly.

Cask at CBC Holborn Garden, 18/06/14. Clear chestnut brown with a moderate light tan covering that thins then stays for the show. Nose is light roasted tones, tobacco, earthy, dark fruit notes, Caramac bar. Taste comprises candied fruit peel, perfumed notes, dark berry fruits, toffee, light hoppings, floral rinse. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hop bitterness in the close. Decent enough for the style.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’14. Brown with cream head. There is an initial sweet, nutty taste, sweet roasted chestnut perhaps. A bitterness then emerges, giving some depth to the flavour. pretty reasonable.
