Cask at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Yellow/gold pour with a white head. Lots of ginger in the nose. Quite malty. Spicy ginger flavour with caramel and toffee. Spicy-fruit finish.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival on 28 April 2011. Pale gold colour. Definite ginger aroma. Clean and gingery on the palate but not too overwhelming. I’m not usually a big fan of ginger beers but this isn’t bad at all.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Light haze on this gold beer. Little bubbly white head. Light semi dry palate, fresh. Mild but fresh ginger with a bit of citrus in the background. Fairly dry finish. The ginger here, is more about flavour than heat. Not bad!

Cask at CASK. Gold with lacy white head. Some ginger aroma, body is ginger and herby hops with malt underlay. OK but gimmicky.

Scopey (3380) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 27, 2011
Cask at the White Horse, Parson’s Green. It pours golden yellow, with a thin, foamy white head. The nose is ginger, sulphur, melon, white bread and light floral. The taste is soap, ginger, melon, pear, hay, straw, honey sweetness and floral, with dryness in the finish. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. Not great.

On cask at The Castle - August 10, 2011. Clear still gold with an average frothy somewhat lasting white head. Smells a bit sour - not much hop character - malty, funky ... not much ginger, but maybe a hint of perfumed hand soap. Taste - well, my voice memo is "whooooooaaaaaahhhh! Whoah!!!! Whoh!!" - THERE’s the hoppiness, oh yeah "the taste is the shit!" - pungently floral/resin, quite a lot of complementing ginger, no alcohol at all on my tongue - a solid 8 for flavour, with a bullet. Quite astringent, mildly carbonated, a long dry bitter finish and the ginger clings doggedly to the palate for a long, long time (4-). Splendiferous stuff.
