COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Ale is a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. The Kentucky Ale mashing program uses: • the finest 2-row imported Harrington malt, • select caramel malt varieties grown both domestically and abroad, • a pinch of wheat malt for a smooth, creamy taste. Varieties of the English hops East Kent Goldings and Fuggles impart a spicy yet soft, floral aroma without a harsh, bitter aftertaste. These ale hops are used to balance the sweetness of the malt and are an important flavor component of Kentucky Ale. Light copper in color, the unique body and character of Kentucky Ale is heavily influenced by the water, drawn from aquifers in the limestone underlying the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.

Bright clear amber beer, tidy white head. Light dry palate, a little crisp. Creamy lactose pale malt, semi sweet. Whisper of citrus, well buried. Dry finish. Pretty one dimensional lactose beer.

355 ml bottle at Bishop’s Arms Plaza, Västra Hamngatan, Göteborg. On February 15, 2013.
Clear golden color, off-white head that dies very fast. Sweet, corn, grainy scent. Fruity, sweet, some apricots, sugary taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. Corn, sugary, sweet aftertaste.
Sort of bland, not much character, I don’t type it very often, but wouldn’t hurt with more influence from the hops.

What a great ale! Ales are not my favorite beer but this is really good. It is best served on tap but the bottle is good too. I like this with burgers, steaks, grilled or barbequed anything.

12 Oz. Bottle. Amber color, slightly cloudy with a little white head. Aroma of caramel combined with some floral and citrus notes but very weak. In the taste department it has the issue hints of hops covered by sweet flavors notes of caramel are predominant. Quite better than any of the macro stuff but not great.

Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Cloudy rusty deep golden to amber color. Aroma of stale hops, a bit floral and earthy and a bit of malt. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, a bit of caramel, a bit of fruitiness and a mildly bitter finish with a bit of stale hops. OK, pretty boring.
