The first brew produced by Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co, Kentucky Ale® is described as a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. With a light amber color, Kentucky Ale owes its body and character to select imported malts and a pinch of wheat malt for a rich, smooth taste. This brew is placed into bourbon barrels to make the brewery’s flagship Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®.

Pours clear copper with a one finger off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of toasted malts, caramel, sweet malts, light floral hops, and light spicy hops. Has a medium-light body with a semi watery mouthfeel and a slighty bitter, medium finish. Overall, a decent amber ale.

On tap in a tulip ..... Clear, light amber with with a white head that dissipates quickly; although, there is some hang on the glass. There is not a lot of body to this beer, but it has a sweet flavor with a slight hop bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
