Commercial Description:
Kentucky Ale is a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. The Kentucky Ale mashing program uses: • the finest 2-row imported Harrington malt, • select caramel malt varieties grown both domestically and abroad, • a pinch of wheat malt for a smooth, creamy taste. Varieties of the English hops East Kent Goldings and Fuggles impart a spicy yet soft, floral aroma without a harsh, bitter aftertaste. These ale hops are used to balance the sweetness of the malt and are an important flavor component of Kentucky Ale. Light copper in color, the unique body and character of Kentucky Ale is heavily influenced by the water, drawn from aquifers in the limestone underlying the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.

Definitely best on top in a clear dixie cup. Nice dark golden colour and thin but lingering head. Malty, light sweetness, clean yet creamy finish. Not a beer to impress with, but exceptionally drinkable and far better than anything else in its price range. ($1.50 - $2 a pint locally).

Bottle from Ashland Beverage Center. The beer is a clear yellow-amber color with a thin and foamy white head that disappears quickly. Thin strings of lacing. Mild malt and caramel aroma. Light body with with sweet grain, malt and fruit flavors. Just a hint of hops bitterness in the background. The finish is short with a sweet malt aftertaste. Barely average overall.

12 oz bottle. Classic yellow beer appearance, honey-corn nose with a light sweet finish. Not great but better than Budweiser.

12 oz bottle from acknud! Nose of caramel, and grain, with a light vanilla and fruity pear note in the background; dark gold with a small off-white head; flavor has a bit of fruitiness, toffee, and a tiny buttery note. Cool bottle cap with a horses head on top! Maybe it’s brewed by the Godfather!

Shared with Juart from a trade with Aknud. A clear amber color with a small fizzy white head that was gone by the time I described it. Nose is a little caramel apple and some corn. A little bit of toffee/caramel flavor, but not much. Probably would have been better fresh. Very little carbonation, but not completely thin.
