Kentucky Ale is a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. The Kentucky Ale mashing program uses: ē the finest 2-row imported Harrington malt, ē select caramel malt varieties grown both domestically and abroad, ē a pinch of wheat malt for a smooth, creamy taste. Varieties of the English hops East Kent Goldings and Fuggles impart a spicy yet soft, floral aroma without a harsh, bitter aftertaste. These ale hops are used to balance the sweetness of the malt and are an important flavor component of Kentucky Ale. Light copper in color, the unique body and character of Kentucky Ale is heavily influenced by the water, drawn from aquifers in the limestone underlying the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.

Light copper in color with a fine, bright white head, it looks pretty light-bodied. The aroma, well... it smells like feet. I think. I donít know. I just canít figure it out. Itís super light in the mouth, both in body and flavor. Itís very thin, with an almost spicy character though. Itís interesting, Iíll give it that, and kinda neat. Creative cooking? Although Iím not too impressed by this beer and despite its light body, itís still pretty entertaining.

Bottle at Kungsgatan 1. Light bready and malty smell and taste. Fairly sweet. Fairly mild and doesnít bring anything extra, a bit boring, but still drinkable.

Bottle. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing white head. Hazy light yellow body. Weak mild flowery aroma. Light fruity but pretty watery flavor. Little hops bitterness, low carbonation, short finish. Lacks character.

Bottle. Appearance: gorgeous bright caramel with a small white head. Aroma: mild on the bourbon (which is good) a little woody too with a nice maltiness. Flavour: muted bourbon (again good) with a great caramel and malt flavour, a hint of coriander with a pleasing woody finish. Nice.

12oz bottle into pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a small white head and leaves a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is very strong caramel malts up front with bread and hops coming in a little more subdued behind it. Taste is also dominated by the caramel malts. Not a bad thing by any means. Also a solid nutty taste that comes through very well, backed by a bit of bread, candy, and fruity undertones here too with the slightest hint of cinnamon in the background. Long finish of maltiness that is sweet, somewhat bitter and slightly sour. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation. Overall this is crisp and a lot more flavorful than expected. Very, very nice! Better than the overall and style scores would lead you to believe.
