The first brew produced by Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co, Kentucky Ale® is described as a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. With a light amber color, Kentucky Ale owes its body and character to select imported malts and a pinch of wheat malt for a rich, smooth taste. This brew is placed into bourbon barrels to make the brewery’s flagship Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®.

What a great ale! Ales are not my favorite beer but this is really good. It is best served on tap but the bottle is good too. I like this with burgers, steaks, grilled or barbequed anything.

Bue en bouteille de 33cl. Blonde orangée. Effervescence faible. Nez sur le grain. Palais classique APA sur le malt principalement. Plutôt douce. Ne laisse pas une grande impression même si elle est bien faite.

Bottled - Clear amber colour, medium white head with poor retention. Sweet malty taste with some corn and bread. Taste is also sweet with some caramel, candy, honey and grainy notes. Light body, moderate carbonation, thin mouthfeel, sweet finish. Not bad.

Poured into a Tulip glass. Nice aroma with hints of hay, oak, and hops. Amber color with a 1" head that dissipated relatively quickly. Decent lacing. First sip, Slightly sweet with a "boubon-ey" twang. Nice overall balance with a unique overall experience. Definitely worth trying. A little hard to find.

Bottle, from a convenience store by the Tokyo Dome. Mr Pearse Lyons is not only a great marketing man, but very much a visionary. Who else would dare to call his single-malt bourbon a "Single Malt Bourbon"? Considering this ale was the brewery’s first product, I think they’ve done a tremendous job. Nice and sweet, with a beautiful copper colour and a faint aroma of root beer, it melts in the mouth with flavours of caramel and a basket of autumn fruits in the cellar. Not too complex, it is smooth in the palate, quite velvety. Straightforward and honest. Another very decent flagship for the state of Kentucky. Well done, Alltech!

12 oz bottle from a 6pack bought at Home Bargains Gateshead for a fiver in a tasting glass. Poured amber with a thin white head which disappeared. Sweetish beer with a bit of a cola flavour. One dimensional and unimpressive

Bottle from Seijo Ishi store. Malty nose, toasted, fruity, brown sugar, and a few bread crumbs. Clear orange/amber color, fine head. Caramel initial, some cola flavor emerges, gets candyish in mid palate, and then a thin, flat finish. Medium body. Overly sweet, fairly one dimensional, but easy to drink.

Golden pour. Thin white head. Sweet smell and even sweeter taste. Kinda funky and off but Beijing can do that to beers.

Clear dark golden color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing. Toffee, caramel and a bit fruity aroma. Medium (+) body and a fine carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Toffee, caramel and mild fruity flavor. Nothing special going on here. Nothing wrong either.

12 oz bottle - pours clear amber golden color. Smell is red malts, golden wheat and run of the mill beer yeast. Taste is pretty much the same. Unimpressive
