COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale™ With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.

full review: wp.me/p5urG4-ga The appearance of the beer was great, the carbonation bubbles that constantly flowed upward in the orange/amber hue was a delight. The head was a good thick white head with some good lacing. Unfortunately that is where the excitement for me stopped. I didn’t even finish the beer. I barely got the bourbon aroma out of it. I couldn’t identify the initial taste, but the finish was acidic to me. The palate was watery.

C’est gentil. C’est même sympathique en un sens .... Je veux dire du "Bourbon barrel" en version légère .... Pourquoi pas à la limite .... En même temps c’est un peu trop léger tout de même.

Pours a golden, amber, with a white head. Smells of vanilla and sweet cask smell. Taste of vanilla malts and bourbon.

bottle. Pours a ruby color with small tan head. Aroma is mostly woody. Bit of vanilla and woody notes in the flavor. Not bad but little here to recommend.

I am having trouble drinking this. Looks like it’s going to be a drainpour. Sweet corn and sugar, vanilla, light oak and white bread. Overly sweet and somewhat tart aftertaste.

Poured from bottle light hazy color with lacey head. Aromas of caramel and alcohol. Taste is somewhat thin with light alcohol after taste.

Not a big fan of this. Character is weak. Taste a bit of bourbon, but something lacks.

Bottle. Golden orange color. Thin to no head. First impression is much lighter bodied than expected. Flavor is vanilla ice cream, just a hint of char and bourbon. Easy sipping, ends on a somewhat dry note. Decent enough, but lacking anything that would resemble "bourbon barrel".

Rated from notes taken 22 Feb 2012 -- This was a pretty good ale, if I recall correctly it was a little thin, but everything else worked very well with it. Need to try again.

Pours a light orange with white head. Aroma is a unique mix of chocolate, vanilla, raspberries, and dark alcohol. Taste is a mix of chocolate (almost brownie like), with vanilla, raspberries, and caramel. A little too sweet for my taste, also with a lingering dark fruit flavor.
