COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale® is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

Lots of candy, sugar babies, caramel, super sweet, slippery and slick. Some wood aging apparent, but mostly sugary sweet (and delicious)

Interesting beer. Pours a light amber color. Aromas are funky barrel, sweet bourbon and coconut. Flavors follow suit. Decent stuff, but kind of one note.

12 ounce bottle. Bright copper color. Aroma is butterscotch and lightly toasted malt. Flavor is more butterscotch and toasted malt. Though there are notes of vanilla and oak, this is just average at best.

(bottle). The aroma is boozy and woody along with the flavor. Not as refined as advertised. A disappointment. Many brewers use Bourbon barrel aging to compliment well craft brewed beers. These barrels attempt to mask a poorly brewed ale over a cheap whiskey flavor. Sorry Ashley.

Bottle. Clear amber pour with a small white head. Aroma is brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, oak and butter. Flavour is much the same; brown sugar, caramel, oak, butter, vanilla. A little light bodied, unfermented sugars, but not all bad. Like Innis & Gunn but a little better all around.

Pours clear amber color-almost like apple juice. Aroma of vanilla, wood, and bourbon. Bourbon flavor with some vanilla and oak. Light bodied and seemed slightly over-carbonated. Decent enough though.

Look: pours a light copper. Very clear. White head. Smell: bourbon barrel. Yeast like a lager. Oak. Vanilla. Taste: bourbon. Oak and vanilla. Feel: thin mouth feel. Slightly sweet on the front and dry on the back. Overall: easy drinker. Just not my style. Heavy bourbon and barrel overwhelm the beer. First drank: 1/20/15 Vintage: 4/15/15
