COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale™ With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.

Pleasing nose of vanilla, whiskey, with hnta of toffee. A clear copper pour with no head or lacing. On the tongue sweet toffee, vanilla, and a wonderful whiskey flavor. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel was somewhat meh. Overall, while this beer is lightly sweeet, the taste lived up to the aroma - pleasing. That said I wouldn’t want to have more than one or two in a row.

Bottle at Amundsen, january 17th 2014. Copper colored body, small white head. Strong bourbon aroma with vanilla, peach, alcohol. Taste of bourbon, oak, caramel. Sweet and alcoholic finish. Seems a bit unbalanced to me, the bourbon taste is too dominant.

Pours golden brown with slightly off white head from 12oz bottle. Very heavy bourbon aroma; warm and rich. Taste, unfortunately, is just a little better than okay. Starts off well with Carmel/toffee, then quickly fades to bitter/sour. Leaves tart unpleasant taste and slight what feels like a yeast-y film. Still a light tasting and feeling beer for a high gravity.

Butter, toffee and alcohol aroma. Pour with a small head but a very clear amber color. Toffee, butterscotch, lite bourbon and bitterness taste. Taste lite for a 8.19 ABV. Good beer

Dark amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is lite but very pleasant sweet and caramel. A medium body beer that has good bourbon flavors but is a little watery.

Pour on tap, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought big boozy bourbon, oak, vanilla, slight earth into some biscuit, caramel, and toffee, very slight spice and yeast in there, but this is boozy and bourbon. Taste is all bourbon, lots of booze, fusels, and burn into some oak, vanilla, caramel, and toffee, finishing with more booze.

Orange amber pour. Little to no head. Sweet toffee, candy corn aroma. Flavor is a bit watery but sweet. Light corn and vanilla. Finishes clean and watery. Palate quite thin. Has this slight aroma of bourbon and notes of vanilla in the flavor; otherwise just a bland watery amber. Surprising touch of hops keeping the sweetness from being overwhelming. Not an enjoyable beer for me. Very thin and watery, but the flavor there is is unpleasant.

Clear bourbon soaked beer. Yep. That's it. I like it. It is what the label reads. No bullshit. Bourbon front with butter and caramel. It's a dirty candy bAr. Certain to enjoy if you are a bourbon drinker. Imbibe my friend, cause this is the angels share. Pretty in the glass nothing to hide just flavor to share. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured orange with a little head, smell was bourbon, vanilla, caramel and very boozy. Taste first like a smooth bourbon, with lots of vanilla, malt and caramel, cake batter sweetness in the back of the mouth. Thin beer but very interesting. It grew on me as I drank it.
