COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale™ With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.

Bottle. A clean pour with minimal head. Aroma of vanilla, sweet syrup, and hint of green apples. Pretty sweet, with a fair amount of carbonation. Thin watery mouthfeel. Certainly some familiar flavors, but there’s a thinness that’s hard to describe.

Clear dark golden with an amazing aroma like boozy vanilla cake batter; lots of sugary vanilla, cake, and a light touch of cinnamon. Flavor is wonderful with notes of light char, light brown sugary bourbon, some oak, lots of vanilla and cake mix, warm earthy boozy toffee, with a slightly cinnamon/vanilla finish. Really swell.

This beer has all of the typical characteristics of an English Strong Ale without any depth at all. It’s fairly true to the style with a strong malty backbone, booziness, and light English hops. It fails to deliver any depth and and is fairly one note especially for a beer aged in bourbon barrels.

Bottle at tasting at Beer&Beyond shop. Clear golden-copper color with a small fast fading head. Aroma of bourbon, toffee and caramel. Taste - medium sweetness, vanilla, butterscotch, bourbon, light honey notes. Light-medium bodied, sticky texture, oily on palate.

Secret Krampus bottle #4, thanks Peter.

Pours a clear copper with a short white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a tiny bit of lacing. Aroma is a combination of butter, coconut, and wood. Flavor is decidedly more woody. I get bitterness, wood, malt, booze, and char. Not a fan but it delivers what it advertises.

Pours amber. Very faint aroma of whiskey with some malts detectable. Flavor shines with a hint of vanilla and a smooth bourbon flavor. This is basically a medium-bodied bourbon flavored beer.

Tastes a whole lot like someone put a shot of bourbon in the beer. I don’t love the mix - I don’t mind having a bourbon and then having a better, but having them simultaneously doesn’t do it for me.

Aromas of vanilla and oak, base beer doesn't add a ton of aroma but the bourbon aroma is nice. Flavor is strong vanilla. Sometimes a bit too strong vanilla making the bourbon flavor feel slightly fake, but mostly it is very good. Base beer tastes a bit on the light side for the level of alcohol. Overall a nice bourbon ale. I like that the base is light and the bourbon flavors are highlighted. Most bourbon aged beers seem to have a heavy or sweeter base. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Quite an odd bird. Pours clear orange with virtually no head. Vanilla, toffee, oak but not much in the way of beer. Still, not bad.
