2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle and served in my NB worthy glassware: Golden hue with a fading fizzy head and almost no lace. The aroma has notes of vanilla bean, caramel, wet grains, moderate bourbon alcohol vapours, some herbal, woody and earthy esters. The taste is a tad sweet and malty with a slap of booze and plastic finish. Wow, not had many BB aged beer with so little character before. What happens when you place a poorly made Amber Ale in a generic bourbon barrel (notice that they do not even say which kind of bourbon barrels they use... RED FLAG). The mouth feel is soft and tepid with a slightly metallic astrengent finish. Any homebrewer with some wood chips soaked in bourbon and added to a basic ale can do as well as this if not better. Sad, truly sad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Natasha’s in Lexington. Pours golden and clear, with a slightly orange tint and small white head. Nose is sweet malt and generous bourbon, particularly vanilla and oak. Some slight sourness from the oak. Not bad, but a little odd... almost like a slightly sweeter bourbon and soda.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
It tastes a lot like a moderately better Gennessee Cream Ale; this is not exactly high praise, and it was 3+ dollars for a bottle. I am displeased.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Vintage Estate. Clear golden pour with tight white head. Aroma of vanilla predominating, backed by a little alcohol. Flavor is again mostly vanilla, and some oak - not terribly interesting. Thin mouthfeel with abundant carbonation - less would have been better. Overall decent, but nothing to return to.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma of bourbon!! And oak!! And flavor is bourbon!! And oak!! Yikes!! Light orange color; tiny white head. Medium-light body. I love oaked beers, and this has a really great, massive bourbon flavor, but it’s over done and makes this one-dimensional.

Tap. red in color with little head. I wasnt expecting much with this beer, but it turned out to be pretty good. Bourbon is the dominate flavor, with notes of carmel, vanilla, and maybe nuts. very good beer that i will have to try again.

Bottle. This was a nice gift, so I feel bad for rating it so low. What sounds like a great idea, leaves a lot to be desired in the final product. To make it simple, there’s too much bourbon in my beer.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pours a reddish / amber with an off-white head, that disappears quickly. Aromas of caramelized sugar, apple cider, definite bourbon, oak. First I can honestly say I’ve never tasted a beer or smelled a beer like this. It’s pretty unique. The initial taste is sweet bourbon, but without any of the heavy corn notes I usually taste (and dislike) in most bourbons. I don’t really get too much oak, but definite caramel, a little bubble gum, dried fruit. Big caramel in the finish. While it’s definitely not a favourite, I appreciate the effort to make something different. Worth trying if you can find it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber pour with an off-white head. If you are a fan of bourbon, you’ll love the aroma here-bourbon, vanilla, wood. Taste reflects the aroma. I liked this beer and would like to try it again.
