Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and a light touch of bourbon.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of bourbon and some tangy malt. Tastes like an amber ale a small shot of bourbon was dumped into. Not as bad as it sounds but not one I want to revisit anytime soon.

Part 2 of my cellar clean out which was only 2 bottles. The Danish would be proud of me. This beer fucking sucks. I dont know what else to say. Tastes like butter and bourbon. Not a good combination. I retched this one up after I drank some.

Bottle from Acknud. Thanks! Pours a thick, viscous gloden graham yellow (R) like a sublte glass of cognac. Aroma is a light Dramboue, wonderfully subtle without the sinus-clearing alcohol rush. Flavors of coconut and butterscotch dominate the first few tastes, but as the beverage warms the bourbon and oak chips become more and more evident. Thin mouthfeel but the impression is of slick, diluted oil. A very nice accompaniment to Willie and Merle’s "Pancho and Lefty" and pettin’ my Buster Boy.

Wonderously rich and moderately sweet bourbon nose - there’s no fuss in this one, just straight bourbon, without being too forward and aggressive. Most bourbon barrel aged beer is the stout and porter variety, with a few strong ales in the mix as well, but with this one I actually really like the lack of roast and chocolate, it allows the simple malt sweetness to play with the sweet and almost fruity character of the bourbon, and the lack of harshness, the smoothness, and the sweetness of the malt integrates really well with the bourbon character. Vanilla bean, a little butter, a little wood, a light sweetness - I dig it.

Hardly an amber.. Orange, honey colored. Minimal lacing, next to no head. Aroma of sweet molasses, bourbon. Great beer for a whisky lover, strong bourbon undertones. Not thick enough,.. somewhat watery. High drinkability.

I tried to like this. This tasted like an ale that had had pure bourbon poured in. It seemed stronger than just aging. The bourbon is overpowering in both aroma and taste.

Fist thing to know is that this review comes from a serious bourbon lover. That being said, I think this beer is great. The aroma has a definite bourbon smell. The nose presents a full and potent bourbon flavor that outmatches the definite aroma; BUT, the kicker for me was the strong and warming vanilla flavor that took over upon swallowing the mouthful. The effect is that you get all of the flavor of the bourbon without the kick and the burn (you even get the subtle bourbon vanilla flavor as an interwoven chaser!) Unlike many other beers that boast of bourbon flavoring, the bourbon flavor is unbelievably clear and dominating of the beer. The effect is that the beer tastes extremely interesting and unique. The only downside is that it is almost not like a beer; there are no notes os hops yet a sturdy malty-ness, which is in the end overpowered by the bourbon. My overall score is coming purely from my perspective of this beer as absolutely unique and worth a try for any bourbon lover out there.

Bottle from Party Source. The beer is a clear amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Thin ting of lacing with spots under it. The aroma is pretty much all bourbon, with maybe a hint of malt buried under it. Medium-bodied with a bourbon overkill character of which the smell warned. Touches of woody malt and hops but again the bourbon overwhelms. The finish is oak and bourbon with a lingering whiskey aftertaste. Not for me.
