Pours a deep golden with a small off white head. The aroma is nice with hints of bourbon, vanilla, and caramel malt. The flavor has a very distinctive bourbon taste with some hops, vanilla, and caramel.

Draft. Aroma: Nice bourbon and woody notes. Brown sugar, coconut, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Behind all that bourbon and wood is a light and sweet maltiness. Appearance: Dark golden in color and clear. Off-white head was small and frothy with fair retention. Not much lacing. Flavor: Bourbon and oak front and center. Coconut, brown sugar, bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, wood. Sweet maltiness is the backbone for all that. Not much bitterness and a sweet finish. Palate: Medium-light bodied and watery at times. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Although I enjoyed this, there was much room for improvement. The base beer seems too flimsy to support all that bourbon barrel flavor. Weak mouthfeel. Some more hops would offset the sweet finish.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear, golden amber with a little lacing head. Slight chemical nose of bourbon. Flavour is light bourbon, somewhat a clear flavour, but still light. Quite interesting light bodied yet powerful flavoured. Ends with a lasting bourbon flavour.

Bottle. [Courtesy of papsoe, yet another great tasting @ Henrik´s] Small white fizzy head that mostly diminished. Clear flat looking body with a golden color. Spare lacework. Wow for 4.5 % this was very complex with clear and heavy notes of bourbon that was actually quit lovely. Also notes of caramel, fruit and maybe a hint of oak and vanilla. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitterness. Lovely lingering bourbon finish. What a very different and extremely nice brew. 18-09-2007

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of jsquire. Clear, deep golden with a small, off-white head. Distinct bourbon aroma. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel but otherwise completely dominated by smooth bourbon flavours. The finish is dry. Quite intriguing an idea to bourbon barrel such a "small beer". 180907

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hazy golden color. Funky aroma, of light Bourbon vanilla, candies and glue. Sweet mouthfeel, with some sweet vanilla too (which is not bad), but lacking of other elements. It has a nice Bourbon vanilla touch, but the rest is missing. And it’s quite strange.

Poured light amber, litle head. Definite hint of bourbon on the nose. Body was very light and watery. Taste was essentially bourbon and water. The bourbon overwhelmed any flavors or complexities of the beer. I am a big bourbon fan but if I wanted to taste straight bourbon I would pour myself a glass of Maker’s. Either needs less time aging in bourbon barrels or need to start out with a heavier base beer like a porter or stout

Bottle; poured a clear amber-orange color with not much head. Aroma is generally sweet with some bourbon, caramel and vanilla. Flavor was generally sweet; with a similar flavor profile to the aroma. More pronounced caramel presence. Pretty good, but nothing exciting.

Pours a clear tan with a slight ring of a head. The nose is slightly off for me - lots of bourbon-esque notes but little else. Am I gonna be drinking beer here? Notes of bourbon, vanilla, charred firewood and wet tobacco rise from the tulip. The first revels an enjoyable caramel base that is really sweet and a bit of a surprise. I’m guessing a bit of leftover sugars are here to help balance the bourbon onslaught. As the caramel subsides, a rush of vanilla beans and oak take over and ride out into the long, coconuty finish. Hmm, interesting beer but a bit too sweet for me.
