3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 27, 2011 this is a weird beer with a very strong flavor. Golden brown pour with some nice white lacing. Aroma is indeed quite bourbony with notes of hops and fruit. similar with the flavor, but with alcohol and caramel notes. So strong in flavor, it’s offputting.

12oz. Very difficult to rate given it is considered a blond ale. So used to rating BA stouts and barleywines and not blond ales. That being said the bourbon is certainly there in the nose and taste. I have not had the non BA version of this ale to compare it to. However, I did enjoy this beer and certainly welcome additional as bonus beers in the future.

Looks like a cream ale. I was surprised at the light color. Hint of bourbon was just right for me. I personally like a bourbon barrel stout, but this was good for me.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
In a classic plastic cup at Nachbar. Can’t tell nose from angle of cup, but flavor is cheap bourbon barrel and caramel. Too many sweet notes to appreciate it, but I love the attempt.

Wow, this was an extra from preismj which is from his home from his home town. Extremely pleased with this beer, poured a light amber color with a little white head that clung to the glass. Slight hint of bourbon, and vanilla, and hops. Tastes like a classic amber ale with some bourbon notes. Really good, and I want to get more from preismj.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear amber color with a nice white head and some lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of excellent Kentucky bourbon, slight malts and a hint of hops. If you like Kentucky bourbon, this is your ale. Taste is very mild bourbon casked ale with a oaken vanilla and a slight malt and hops presence. The bourbon is not overpowering but graceful and smooth.

Bottled@Cask Pub And Kitchen, London. Amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is wood, vanilla, some fruits and mild bourbon as well. Flavour is fruits, vanilla, wood and some quite earthy notes. Also some mild notes of alcohol. Bourboony aftertaste. Balanced and quite nice.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sample at a tasting at IlliniSmitty’s house. Aroma was sweet and sour with a sting. Little bourbon on the nose. Color is like a cream ale. Flavor and palate are both lame and uninspired. I imagine Alltech left a bourbon barrel out side overnight and storm came in from the horizon. the forgot about it for a month or so and came to discover that the water in the barrel began to ferment. Voila, that’s what you’re drinking. bourbon water.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2014 Travis brought this one to the Memorial Day Party. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-amber color with a large foamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was tangy and tart with strong brown sugar and bourbon and a hint of vanilla. The flavor was tart and tangy with light grapefruit up front followed by bourbon, vanilla and nut. The finish was long, and tart with pine, bourbon and brown sugar lingering. Medium body. Interesting.
