1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle shared by atom. I saw bourbon barrel ale and I assumed this was going to be something darker in color, but his pours clear and golden in color with a small white head. Head quickly dissipates to some sparse bubbles around the neck. It looks nice for something like an ipa, but this is not what I would expect from something aged in bourbon barrels. Pretty harsh, and boozy aroma, with some vanilla, oak, and a bit of chocolate appearing. Too much like bourbon, and not enough like a beer in the aroma for this to be pleasing. If I was drinking whiskey this would be nicer. Very thin on the palate. Grains, some vanilla, a bit of chocolate, but nothing much else is present with this. Really watery and just plain bland.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Shallo’s in Indianapolis and from a bottle on New Year’s. Aroma and Taste are both primarily bourbon - oak/sweet vanilla. This is a good thing as far as I’m concerned. I also noticed some caramel, but this was exactly what I expected based on the label. At 8%, I had anticipated more of a bite or warming from the alcohol but didn’t notice it. Overall, I enjoy the as a scotch/whisky/bourbon fan, I really enjoyed finding similar flavors in an ale. Great for sipping in the winter when I need something other than a Stout or Porter, but not something I would want more than two of in a session.

2.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
amazing smell, and sweet tasting and good in most respects, but too light, and lacks strong enough of taste to be a really good beer.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz bottle. Red tinged orange with a white ring of head that remains after the first few seconds of the pour. Kernel double caramel popcorn, bubblegum, weet vanilla, bourbon although grain alcohol is also very present. Sorta like screech / watered down bad bourbon, sweet and thin, moderate carbonation, bit of corn alcohol, little dry and vegetbly on the end, not overly complex and lacks depth. Not good.

2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Pours light orange with thin white head. Looks like your regular macro in the glass. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, and buttered popcorn. Taste of vanilla, bourbon, and stale beer. Just like what a macro beer would taste like if you poured a shot of bourbon in it. Not done well at all.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft in a snifter. Pours clear caramel with light white head. Nose is bourbon and smoked wood. Aroma is bourbon and cherry. Taste is sweet. Boiler maker anyone? Honestly I’d prefer a Budweiser and a shot of bourbon.

caught me by suprise, the bourbon smell and taste were just right with a vanilla flavor and a nice roasted malt . Very drinkable, be carefull for the high gravity sets a very mellow feeling quickly.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear amber with a very thin white head. Aroma of bourbon, malt, beef jerky, sweet malt and light alcohol. Taste of malt, fake sugar, moderate bourbon with an artificial cola-like quality to it. It reminded me a bit of cream soda.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a rusty copper color with a very thin head. Aroma is all bourbon up front with not too much else going on. Taste is similar; lots of bourbon, some vanilla, a little sweet. This isn’t bad but there’s not a great deal of complexity here; bourbon with bubbles in a bottle. It’s drinkable but it isn’t something to go out of your way for. Though it is surprisingly smooth for the strength; I will give it that.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Glear copper color almost no head. Aroma is straight bourbon with buttery hints of vanilla and oak. Taste is strong bourbon as well, its bourbon flavor is great but its lacking a good beer flavor, its kind of like you took a lame no flavor brew and mixed it with bourbon. Meh
