COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale® is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2015 At Fork on Lincoln. This was a mess. The flavors compete strangely and hit at all the wrong moments. Bourbon, then wood, then cream soda, then sweet. Serving: Tap

Tap at a politics themed bar in Indianapolis. I really enjoyed this delightful sipper and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys tasting a bit of bourbon in thier beer.

355ml bottle at BePLUS Beer Club, Xiamen. Pours golden amber with a thin white head. Big vanilla and bourbon aroma. Sweet finish. Didn’t really use to like this style but it’s growing on me.

Eh, kind of expecting more from this! Pours amber w/ a thin white head & some lacing. The aroma is of subtle bourbon as is the taste. It’s fairly thin at over 8% & doesn’t have much character other than the bourbon. It’s drinkable but definitely a 1 trick pony!

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2015 Glowinf dark Amber color. Notes of brown sugar and vanilla on the nose. Slight bite of char from the barrels, but mostly caramel, vanilla, butterscotch and a touch of tobacco for flavor. Very smooth...and a nice change of pace. Worth the coin.

On tap at World of Beer Pensacola. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy white head. The aroma is honey malt, wood, caramel. Similar flavors to nose, light booze, decent.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass, from Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Dark orange to light amber and clear appearance with a small, diminishing head. Aroma of dark fruits, oak, vanilla and a touch of bourbon. Similar flavor, kind of bland and weird. Average body. Hard to drink after a while.

A strange brew. Pours dark amber with very little head. The aroma has some vanilla and oak. Same for the flavor. Very thin and watery.

Sampler at Matt the Miller’s Tavern. Luminous brown color with almost no head. Aromas are caramel and bourbon. Strong bourbon flavor up front, think caramel, adequate hops. Light and fizzy on the palate. The bourbon is too overpowering for the thinness of the ale. Not a great beer.

A oublier !!

Clear amber, small off white foam head. Bourbon tones in aroma, also caramel. Warm taste, bittersweet, bourbon notes. (Nashville 201505)
