COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale™ With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.

Growler from the Beer Growler (Alpharetta). Clear gold with a small, off-white head. The aroma is caramel, hay, butterscotch, and vanilla. Very sweet, with a little sour note toward the end. Medium body, sticky, a little acidic, and lightly carbonated. This beer is very forward with the bourbon notes, which is the only thing to make this mediocre beer worth drinking.

Poured from 12oz bottle from a mix 6 pack, pours a clear dark copper with no head at all, aroma was of sweet caramel and malt with a hint of booze, flavor has a harsh booze front end with a really sweet finish of caramel, ugh.

Caramel and malt aroma. . Taste is a very bland for the style, a little bourbon flavor. Very thin almost no heat. Boring

pours clear golden orange with a small white cap, little retention and lacing. sweet caramel and toffee, butter, brown sugar and vanilla, woodsy but mainly coconutey, booze, awkward fruitiness, hint of acetone. moderate carbonation, light body - oily and sticky, toffee-grassy-spicy-boozy and lightly astringent finish. weak innis and gunn US interpretation.

Clear copper with thin off white head that dissipates quickly. Kind of reminds me of a lighter version of one of those Innis & Gunn scottish ales. Surprisongly light and sweet. Aftertaste of alcohol, bread, and bubblegum. Odd. Pleasant drink nonetheless but probably won’t buy again. Too many other good beers out there.

Bottle - Sweet whiskey grain notes. Clear copper with a thin head. Oak, grain and light bourbon notes. Much lighter than expected with sweet barrel noes vs the heavy bourbon.

BLADT (214) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - APR 6, 2014
UPDATED: APR 7, 2014 From tap. Looks like bourbon in glass. Thin head. Overly sweet aroma. Vanilla extract. Buffalo Trace. Taste is much the same: artificially sweetened bourbon. Boozy tasting. Kind of disgusting. Who is buying this?

A- Pours a golden color with creamy, off white head. S- The nose has lots of bourbon and wispy bready notes but seems thin and one dimensional. T- Light bread, vanilla, some bourbon but it’s all pretty faint. M- Medium bodied with ample carbonation. D- This brew wasn’t extremely interesting to me and seemed like one that didn’t benefit too much from barrel aging.
