COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale™ With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.

Actually bought a pack of this direct from the brewery while on vacation. Pours out a nice ambery color, smells like... you guesed it, bourbon. Taste is fantastic, again, like bourbon, but a bit sweeter. I absolutely love this stuff. I need more. My friends and I went through the entire supply the hotel we stayed at had in their bar over the course of a weekend.

First bourbon flavored ale I’ve had. Loved how it looked and smelled like bourbon with just a suttle taste of bourbon. Wish it tasted a little more oakey. Prost.

caught me by suprise, the bourbon smell and taste were just right with a vanilla flavor and a nice roasted malt . Very drinkable, be carefull for the high gravity sets a very mellow feeling quickly.

On draught at One Eyes Jacks in Fairborn, OH. Very flavorful of oak with a vanilla finish. No head, darker amber color. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a oak aged ale with a sweeter finish.

Super great bourbon ale. Not what I expected but in good way. Thin and light with a warming affect for those cold winters nights. Exception. A must for a relaxing ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow the bourbon ale is outstanding. Catch them when the tasting room is open. Subtle taste of bourbon. vanillia overtones quite smooth.

WOW is just an understatement for this amazing beer, and I think this low score really does not do the beer any justice. Everything you might have been used with other Bourbon aged beers come to a clash with this beer. Instead of a strong beer base aged with bourbon, they actually use a low abv beer that they age in bourbon barrel. The result is just extraordinary. The aroma is loaded with bourbon, it feels like sniffing a glass of whiskey, the alcohol just engulfs your smell. That being said, I cannot help but notice that with the brewery being in Kentucky, they have had access to some really fancy barrels as the nose is just purely amazing. Taste is once again loaded with the wood, barrel, bourbon mouthfeel with extra touch of vanilla. Only let down is that the actual bourbon - whiskey comes across a lot stronger than the beer itself. Either a miss or hit depending of one’s style. Definitely a different approach, interesting, highly drinkable beer. Taste really does feel like it is way over 4.5%, give this one a good try.

Found this one bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky. Light, toasty nose with a clear, dark yellow pour with no head. Slightly bubbly. Wonderfully sweet, oaky and syrupy flavors well-balanced with a nutty hoppyness that is unusual but very good. I expected this one to be a bit one-dimensional but if it wasn’t so expensive, this would be a fantastic sessionable ale. I loved it.

Faint spice bourbon vanilla aroma. Head dissipates quickly on top of a clear deep amber ale. Distinct what I’m assuming is a bourbon taste with lots of carbonation. Like the aroma it has vanilla spice with hints of oak in the taste. Finishes clean with a noticeable warming sensation on the palate. Certainly one to be sipped and savored. I liked this one a lot and would definitely have another at any time.
