COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale® is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

Aroma has a sweetness and a bourbon edge. Color is a bright yellow with a white head. Taste is sweet and bourbon, definitely a bourbon lovers beer. Plate is smooth despite this.

Wow. Almost suspect artificial vanilla notes. Very buttery after taste. Nice color if it picked anything up from the barrel it was the color, next to nothing for aroma. Beer is surprisingly sweetish in mouthfeel, but not in taste.

Pours an amber color with a moderate head. I detected a taste of cherry, not unpleasant. Still, the boldness of a creative ale was not there. But I continued to drink and enjoy an unusual beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from old town. Pours a copper Amber color with a small off-white head. Vanilla, bourbon, caramel on the nose. Tastes fairly sweet and slightly rich. Average carbonation. Long smooth sweet finish. Kind of below average for a bourbon barreled beer.

Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak. Not my palate, but I gave it a shot.

Smooth easy drinking ale. Hint of malt and nutty bread. Easy on the palate and simple. Nothing complicated yet decent.

I loved this beer but then again, I love whiskey so there you go. If you like whiskey this beer offers a unique combination of great flavors.

Not gonna spend much time reviewing this. In the end it is a below average beer that lacked in all areas from start to finish.

Draft in Nyc. Clear copper orange. Sweet malty muddle aroma. Corn. Sweet, a little orange malt. Creamy body. Muddled, boutbon barrel I suppose. But nothing great on the base
