COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale™ With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.

I found this to be a very different beer. I assumed it would be more like a stout or a porter but it was very much lighter. I think that made it more appealing to me. I love beer but I am a whiskey drinker first and foremost. If you like whiskey you will like this. You cannot get away from the whiskey taste.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent deeper gold with thin foamy head. Smells solid too; all bourbon though. Tastes like it smells with more vanilla and an average mouthfeel. Alright, but not by BB standards. Still, fairly easy to drink nonetheless.

Draft pour clear orange yellow. Nose of strong bourbon and some toffee. Taste more bourbon up front. Mid palate sweetness and a bourbon finish.

I am a big bourbon fan and this has a very pleasant odor of bourbon. The taste however is mediocre at best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft from Mellow Mushroom Decatur. Pours brown with an inch of white foam. Smells and tastes of cheap bourbon and not much else. Eh!

Notes of butter and maple after the bourbon. Low carbonation when served in a snifter.

Bottle. Amber pour with little head. Smells like whiskey. Tastes of butter and bourbon. Not bad but not my favorite bourbon aged. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The closest tasting beer to whiskey. Pours dark brown. Low carbonation. Lingering head. Taste of bourbon, caramel cream as it sinks down the gullet. Good beer to end the evening.

Buttery sweet. Good brew. Smooth feel and finish. Taste the boubon aging in this one.
