COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale™ With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.

Snifter at Timothy O’Toole’s during Chicago Craft Beer Week. Clearly I’m showing more love for this than most raters; maybe coming from a tap helps? Golden bourbon color: the brewmaster really picked his grains well. A thin ring of foam with a scrum of bubbles in the center. The smell is bourbon and branch, a moderate amount of alcohol. The taste carries through with that smooth Kentucky bourbon impression. Limited bittering, just enough to stay out of the way. Impression is right between sippin’ and slurpin;. Besides, this was just $5.50, great price for a Streeterville bar.

On tap, snifter. Pours a clear gold with no head - looks more like a cider than an ale. Sweet, boozy aroma with a little oak and vanilla. Taste is a little sweeter than expected - really is mostly bourbon on the tongue, with a very warm, alcoholic finish. Pretty good, but not something I’d ask for if I was really in a "beer" mood.

Solid, if a bit on the sweet and hedonistic side. Definite bourbon influence. Clean, delicious.

This beer has a honey color with no head. Smell has a faint bourbon smell. The taste seems like a glass of makers Mark that has been watered down with ice

Bottle thanks to Scott. Pours out copper with not really much of a head. Aroma is of vanilla, bourbon, oak, light toffee and some caramel. Taste is much the same, lots of sweet bourbon, vanilla, toffee, light toast, caramel, lightly buttery notes in there, but not too much to ruin it.

Pours honey color with disappearing head. Very light aroma. Hard to make anything out. Taste is honey and vanilla with just a hint of mellow hops. Warm finish

From the tap. Pours copper color, thin head, clear. Smells great - sweet bourbon, vanilla, wood. Barrel taste is pretty overwhelming. A bit of malty caramel as well, but pushed out by bourbon and some alcohol. One was good enough.

Actually not too bad. Very thin for a bourbon beer but has a nice balance of bourbon and vanilla.

Essentailly this beer is like an English Pale Ale aged in a bourbon barrel. The aroma is bourbon, caramel. The appearance is a clear amber color, white head. The flavor is like the aroma exactly. The finish is bourbon, no booze warming, light sweet caramel. Boring really.

Aroma of mild roasty vanilla and pours a clear amber color with tan medium tan head. Tastes of sweet vanilla and caramel. I was expecting a little more boozyness considering it being barrel aged, but none the less it was a smooth beer.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep golden color with 2 fingers of white creamy head. Aroma of sweet oak, vanilla, and charcoal. Taste is very bourbon forward, with hints of oak and vanilla.
