COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It is a traditional American-style Barley Wine aged in freshly decanted Kentucky Bourbon barrels. With a rich malty backbone and a citrusy aromatic hoppiness, this bold barrel-aged Barley Wine comes together to create a well-balanced flavor profile.

12 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Pours a clear reddish-amber with a small off-white head that lasts only as a ring and spotty film. Aroma of vanilla, toffee, dried berries, oak, dried grains, booze, and an odd medicinal note. Flavor of oak, toffee, dry grains, leaves, booze, dried fruits, and that same odd medicinal note. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a medicinal, sweet, thin, kind of chemical mouthfeel. Pretty weak for the style.

Bottle. Murky deep amber pour with a small wispy head. Nice aroma of malt, bourbon, and wood - subtle but nice. Taste is strange - citrus hops clash with the wood and bourbon.

Bottle to snifter, small off white diminishing head, dark copper in color.Heavy aroma of malt, hops and average alcohol for a BW.Light to medium body with a thin texture, with a metalic astringent finish.Moderate to heavy bitter with an average to long finish. They do get alittle credit for their reserved use of bourbon, but in light of the poor quality perhaps it may have helped if they had gone over the top instead.

From a bottle. Smells very sweet. Tasted sweet, but has a wonderful bourbon after quality. Slightly burns going down. Love the wine type characteristic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It’s like kbb ale, but with a bitter aftertaste. The color is slightly darker than the ale too.

The aroma is caramel, bourbon, wood, and hops. The appearance is amber with a small head. The taste has the elements from the aroma but also a overpowering chemical bitterness and a strange but not unwelcome pineapple finish. The palate is average. Overall both good and bad so really hard to rate.
