Carefully crafted by Alltech’s master brewers, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout® builds on the success of its barrel-aged brother, the beloved Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is brewed and aged with Alltech® Café Citadelle Haitian coffee and aged in world-famous Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result is a complex stout with dark-roasted malts, hints of caramel and vanilla and a lightly roasted coffee finish.

Pours a jet black with a thin off-white head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, and caramel. Flavor is bourbon, vanilla, hints of coffee, and caramel. Has a thin body with some carbonation, and a bad aftertaste. I was expecting something bigger and fuller like an imperial stout, but this is more like a beer-cola hybrid. Not terrible, but definitely not great.

Small of strong coffee and roasted barley. Rich deep black color. Taste starts off suttle with hints of vanilla from the bourbon barrel followed by strong smooth coffee. Flat like carbonation with full body. Wish there was more carbonation but flavor definitely tickles my palate Just right. Nice work.

Kifejezetten testes. Határozottan szerencsés összhang. Tetszik ez a sör!

Pours deep dark brown, thick light brown head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is mostly coffe, espresso. Taste is espresso, cola, almost milky sweetness, petillant carbonation, some bitterness on the finish.

Nice looking but just a gross marketing driven trademarked product from the dark underbelly of contract brewing. Thin on taste, body, and I do not live the sour lactic tang. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with small head. Aroma: beautiful aroma of fresh coffee, dark roasted malt. Taste: coffee, roastiness, some acidity (like from black coffee). Great one but I do not really smell/taste the barrel.

Coffee aroma on the nose, certainly smells better than it tastes. Vanilla and bourbon up front and a bit astringent as it goes down the hatch. Mouth feel is watery for a stout. OK.

Bottle - Black colour with small beige head, poor retention. Sweet toffee nose with decent barrel aroma, some roasted malts, chocolate. Taste is chocolate, some coffee, caramel and woody, earthy notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture, roasty and a bit boozy finish. Not bad, but ist like a demo version of this style.
