COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrels that once contained world-famous Kentucky Bourbon lend a sweet hint of caramel and vanilla to dark-roasted malts and finish with the essence of a lightly roasted coffee. The barrel-aged flavors native to Kentucky compliment this complex stout brewed and aged with Haitian coffee to create the bourbon country’s own Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout.

The beer starts smooth, very smooth and slightly malty. The mainpart is smooth, easy to drink with hints of the Bourbon Barrels. But there could be more wood. The aftertaste is long, malty, slightly roasted and slightly bitter and very smooth. The 8% are not tastable.
A very great beer! But could be a bit more intense roasted. --> 12/13/13/13

Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. Pours a translucent brown, very little head. Aroma coffee, smoke, peaty. Body slight, almost citric tang. Meh. Kind of disappointing, I feel like roasty character is too strong.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and a little crisp. Milky sweet malt with a trace of dark chocolate. Light bourbon and a whisper of bubblegum ester. Light dry finish, dark chocolate aftertaste. Somewhat of a clumsy ba stout but it’s okay.

I’m shocked this beer isn’t in the 90’s. Good, uniquely sweet and balanced ale.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2014 Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #30. 12 ounce bottle from Shenanigans, Lexington. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin ring of tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of coffee and mild bourbon. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, mild bourbon and vanilla. Medium bodied, slight booze, a bit disjointed. Not bad.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark black pour with thin to almost no tan head, aroma brought notes of coffee, roast, some woody notes, hints of ash, slight caramel in there. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, coffee, some slight roast, wood, into a bit of vanilla, finishing bitter, dry, watery. Eh.

Sort, ugennemsig. Tykt, cremet, lysebrunt skum. Aroma: lakrids og kaffe. Ditto smag. Fyldig, cremet. Fad og bourbon tydelig i eftersmag, men alkohol virker sprittet.
