3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt, wood and alcohol aroma. Medium sweet dark malt flavor with a medium dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a good but soft beer for style.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Poured medium-deep brown with a short-lived, toasted tan head. The aroma picked up sweet-ish, light-moderately roasted coffee paired with slightly rough bourbon and charred oak.. more coffee than anything else, and it was just OK. The flavor found similar stuff, but it worked a little better.. roasty coffee throughout, with mild accents of sweet bourbon and vanilla.. lightly tangy oak laced throughout.. finished very dry with a nice hit of coffee. Medium-bodied at most on the palate, and a tad thin overall.. low-moderate carbonation.. this needed a bit more substance or dimensions.

Above average overall.
