COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carefully crafted by Alltech’s master brewers, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout® builds on the success of its barrel-aged brother, the beloved Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is brewed and aged with Alltech® Café Citadelle Haitian coffee and aged in world-famous Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result is a complex stout with dark-roasted malts, hints of caramel and vanilla and a lightly roasted coffee finish.

Originally rated on 11/12/14. Black body with ruby highlights, thin mid tan cap. Aromas are on the faint side but hints of bourbon, and oak. Flavor of dirt, cheap watery bourbon with some dark roasted malt notes, not very good at all. Mouthfeel is thin and prickly from the carbonation, with a dry bitter finish.

Poured from a bottle. Very dark, very little head or lacing. Coffee aroma, bourbon taste with caramel and hops. Not bad.

355ml bottle at BePLUS Beer Club, Xiamen. In a dark bar appears to pour black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted coffee, vanilla, chocolate and some bourbon. Sweet finish. A bit thin for an 8% beer.

Strong, rich aroma of roast coffee and humorous. Appears a deep amarose or penchlen. Tastes good, strongly of coffee again, not a lot of Bourbon, or at least not as sweet as some. Cola and ankleberry, some cigarette. No head retention, and thin body, a bit lacking to my tastes there. Overall probably best a touch warmer than straight icebox. Coffee and cola predominate.

Bottle thanks to Janet. Clear mahogany with a minimal head. Thin cocoa and mild booze.

APPEARANCE - of course, black. NOSE - mostly bourbon. No stout scents. FLAVOR - so so. Not what I expected for a stout, not roasty, or deep flavor. Bourbon flavor comes through a bit.

This is a heavy on the coffee stout, should be called Kentucky Coffee. If you are in the mood for bitter chocolate, coffee, you will love this one, the day I drink it, it was just what I was looking. Any other day I would want more sweetness to round out the bitterness.

Poured from bottle, no head. Nice bourbon smell but virtually no bourbon taste at all. Lots of coffee and seems to me almost like coffee flavored sparkling water. Had high hopes but they were dashed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Hopjacks. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong bourbon and wood. Medium mouth with a sweet bready malt, wood, roast, dark chocolate, good.
