COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrels that once contained world-famous Kentucky Bourbon lend a sweet hint of caramel and vanilla to dark-roasted malts and finish with the essence of a lightly roasted coffee. The barrel-aged flavors native to Kentucky compliment this complex stout brewed and aged with Haitian coffee to create the bourbon country’s own Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout.

pours like coffee with some light shining through on the edges with a minimal head. aromas of coffee, vanilla, chocolate and slight coconut. the taste is very roasty with tons of coffee, I am not picking up a ton of bourbon but there is some vanilla present. Mouthfeel is pretty thin for a stout especially one at 8 percent abv. I am not saying this is bad but it is kind of weak for the style.

Decent bourbon barrel stout. Really smooth and balanced beer strong boboim flavor. With a boozy finish. Had a draft. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours unclear medium dark brown, red tint, with a reviving light beige cap, minimal retention and lacing. stale coffee, roasted grains, roasted acidity - almost tart; citrus, pine, booze, plain dark malts akin to a poor black ipa, spicy berries, tons of pepper, cigarette buts, hint of vanilla. light carboantion, light body - slightly watery - clearly lacking for style; acrid and ashy-coffee finish. disgusting.

12oz bottle, split 2 ways at fridge temp. Pour is pretty dark but not pitch black. 1 finger head that fades to nothing. lots of coffee aroma, roasted malts a bit of chocolate, almost any barrel. This is just not good. sweet, fake pretty bland. almost no mouthfeel at all. tiny barrel presence, very weak. sadly, not good.

Poured from bottle. Lovely jet black color with no head. Coffee taste immediately up front but completely lacks any bourbon or boozey after-taste that should follow a bourbon barrel aged beer. As a matter of fact, this tastes little more than cold coffee! Wouldn't drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle allowed to warm to about 50F then served in a snifter. A: A very dark ruby-brown that is black in the glass but with reddish highlights at the edges when held up to the light. It starts with about a finger of light khaki head that quickly settles to a ring. Aroma: Vanilla, roasted malts, light coffee, toasted bread, bourbon barrel and faint chocolate. Aroma is the strong point of this ale. Flavor: lightly sweet. Bourbon barrel adds some vanilla, toffee, faint wood and, of course, bourbon. aftertaste Feel: Carbonation is low. Body is medium. Smooth but with a light astringency. Some warming. Overall: a good ale but only average, at best, for a Bourbon Barrel Stout.

Coffee, Hints of caramel, touch of bourbon. A bit underwhelming overall, but definitely good. Just not worth 12 dollars for four 355 ml bottles.

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Nearly opaque dark brown color, beige rim head, thin streaks of lace that drop back in the drink. Aroma of malt and bourbon. Taste is carbonated malt with the addition of alcohol on the swallow. I smell the bourbon, but I don’t taste it. Actually a simple brew, easy enough to quaff, but not memorable.

Dark espresso appearance with thin khaki head. Smoky, coffee, Bourbon, molasses and oak notes. Full-bodied and full-flavored.
