Kentucky IPA® is a deliciously hoppy, golden-hued American India Pale Ale. It has bright citrus flavors and sweet floral aromas that come from liberal dry-hopping with American hops. The India Pale Ale style is the fastest growing craft beer style on the US market.

Kentucky IPA® is the first canned beer produced by Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. and is sold in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans. This format is ideal for sporting events, outdoor concerts, at the beach and other places where glass is not permitted. Kentucky IPA is also available in bottles and on draft.

Can shared by beerandblues2. Pours clear golden amber with creamy white head. Aroma is biscuit and cereal malts, light toast, floral hops, light caramel, and faint grapefruit. Flavor is dry malts forward quickly followed by sharp hop bitterness and grapefruit esters with some faint sweetness buried underneath; dry finish with some lingering bitterness. Medium body and low carbonation.

Can. Pours clear orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is citrus, herbal, pine, and dank hops with peach and apricot, and light biscuit malt. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, light crisp biscuit malt, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

0.33l bottle. Pours golden yellow amber hazy with thick cream white head, lacing. Aroma is nutty, herbs, orange fruits, hops. Palate is full bodied with medium mouth feel and smooth carbonation. Aftertaste is medium malty, fruity with good amount of hoppiness. Finish is vaguely mild until the clear bitter hops kick in... Overall quite bitter but refreshing however, the middle taste is lacking, tends to go from initial fruity aroma and nuttiness into watery malty end before finishing in overloaded hoppy bitterness. Still quite enjoyable, but rather simple or unbalanced.

Medium sized off white head with fair retention and a nice lacing. Hazy, light copper, gold hued brew. Soft nose of citrus, little floral. Body is med/light with a gentle carbonation, lightly acidic. slight hop flavors, citrus, leaf and grass along with a tame but balanced maltyness, lightly sweet, little grainy. Fairly dry, uneventful finish. An easy drinkin IPA that would bode well for the young, uns. Props to neohippie for the bottle!

bottle: pours a orangeish yellow color with a nice white head. Aroma is nice and citrusy with some floral notes going on. Flavor is nice and bitter, with a heavy mouthfeel and solid malty backbone that balances it out. Not the most "interesting" ipa, but very drinkable, and enjoyable for sure.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan. Foamy, steady off-white head. Really has little finesse, but a decent hop backbone gets it through the struggle. Mostly deep resinous pine, maybe some niceness from the Simcoe. Somehow stumbling up with my friendly rating scale I guess, this one is just tolerable enough. Hardly impressive brewing, and not one I’d seek out again, and wish I hadn’t bought a whole sixpack, but OK enough.

Albany, Ga - Warehouse Package Store - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, light off white head. Light spruce aroma, hints of caramel. Flavor has some resiny hoppy bitter citrus notes with some caramel notes, some nectarine sweetness a bit of back end nuttiness. Mouthfeel has a nice fullness to it. Better than expected.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2013 Draft sample at 2013 Cincinnati Brew Ha Ha festival. Medium amber color, hoppy/fruity nose, taste like the aroma--flavor not as well balanced as it could be but certainly satisfactory. It’s good to see Alltech expanding its lineup of brews. Tasted on August 24, 2013.
