COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky IPAģ is a deliciously hoppy, golden-hued American India Pale Ale. It has bright citrus flavors and sweet floral aromas that come from liberal dry-hopping with American hops. The India Pale Ale style is the fastest growing craft beer style on the US market.

Kentucky IPAģ is the first canned beer produced by Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. and is sold in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans. This format is ideal for sporting events, outdoor concerts, at the beach and other places where glass is not permitted. Kentucky IPA is also available in bottles and on draft.

Albany, Ga - Warehouse Package Store - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, light off white head. Light spruce aroma, hints of caramel. Flavor has some resiny hoppy bitter citrus notes with some caramel notes, some nectarine sweetness a bit of back end nuttiness. Mouthfeel has a nice fullness to it. Better than expected.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2013 Draft sample at 2013 Cincinnati Brew Ha Ha festival. Medium amber color, hoppy/fruity nose, taste like the aroma--flavor not as well balanced as it could be but certainly satisfactory. Itís good to see Alltech expanding its lineup of brews. Tasted on August 24, 2013.

11/1/13. 12oz bottle from Five Points. Clear golden amber pour with a small khaki head that fades fast. Rich floral aroma, touches the sweet side, plenty of caramel, some rosewater, orange juice, graininess, apples. Sweet flavor, orange peel, floral, caramel. Mehhhhhhhh.

Hazy amber beer with a tidy off white head. Minerally crisp palate. This malt base. Reasonable hops - orange peel and marmalade and fresh orange. Touch of lagerish paper. Finishes crisp. Much better than expected.

Bottle. Darker yellow with slight off white head. Some decent lacing on the glass. grainy nose. Iím a hop head but this is overbearing. The hops kill out the malt presence rather than complement it. 6.5 alcohol is not detected, but with the massive amount of hops the ethanol could be stronger with little noticability. I canít believe I of all people am saying this, but itís too bitter.

Can. Sweet malt takes the front with citrus hop aroma. Flavor of citrus and slight fruit. Good malt backbone. Mid to light body. Good balance. Smooth

Well balanced IPA. The hop flavor is lacking because of a stronger malt backbone. Very smooth but not a go to IPA

16 oz can. Pours a massive head with a slightly hazy orange body and aromas of floral hops with a little soap and citrus. Flavor is tangy citrus, but kind of a not quite ripe persimmon bitterness to it that sticks on my teeth. There is an overloaded front of grain that hits mid palate and then gives way to an almost tart citrus presence.

Big can in a tulip. Pours amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of light floral and light citrusy hops plus pale malts and dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not the best, probably because itís from Lexington.
