COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Kölsch® is a top-fermented ale, a classic style of beer originating in Cologne, Germany. According to German beer law, only beers brewed in Cologne can carry this illustrious title. Aside from our brewery’s Kentucky location, we are certain Kentucky Kölsch® lives up to these high beer standards. For years, Alltech master brewers have used their very own specialized yeast, which is the single greatest contributor to this remarkably flavorful and award-winning microbrew. Our master brewers’ recipe calls for imported pale malts and malted white wheat to create an exceptionally smooth finish.

Kentucky Kölsch® was renamed from Kentucky Light in Spring 2013 to more accurately reflect its beer style. The light-bodied, crisp ale is a German-style Kölsch ale, a classic style of beer originating from Cologne, Germany. With the increasing savvy of craft beer enthusiasts, the Kölsch descriptor is now better recognized and understood.

Pours light without much head which lingers a bit. Good aroma for a light beer. Drinkable . Hey, it’s a Kölsch, not a stout. I like it.

Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a small amount of lacing. Typical Kolsch aroma, sour, skunky, mild malt. Lemony, crisp, watered down malt taste. Palate cleansing. OK Beer

355ml bottle pours a clear straw color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy and grainy. Taste is a grassy and spicy hop bitterness with a grainy malt sweetness. Light bodied with decent carbonation. A refreshing brew that would be nice on a hot summer day.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear pale straw color, light white head cover, splotches of lace. Taste is wheat and malt and some adjunct with a slight clay earthiness, and perhaps a pinch of spice. Carbonation is present through the finish. Reminds me a lot of the Bud Lite stuff, but there is a little bit more here. Clean and thirst quenching, ... and pretty weak.

Pint on tap. Hazy golden with a small spot of bubbles. Nose is sour apple and toasted maize. Taste is apple, caramel, toast and grassy herb. Near-medium body has medium carbonation and a nice balance.

A bit thin on the tongue. Not as fruity as many kolsch. Not much aroma. An average kolsch but better than many American domestic beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with spare lacing. Aroma is corn and Pils malt with light earthy hops and a clean nose. Flavor is sweet corn and Pils malt with light earthy hops and bitterness, clean lager character and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Where and how: bottle 355 ml
Aroma true to style, mildly pungent with chamomile and meadow feel. Golden malts behind.
Appearance :
Top: bright white cap, rings on glass. Head could last bit longer.
Base: bright golden.
Palate : thinner body, almost watery, fairly clean.
Taste: Where did the golden malts go? Soapy hop bitterness.
other notes proper vibe of Kolsch yet why so washed-out ?
