Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale is a barrel-aged ale brewed with Kentucky-sourced pumpkin, richly spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. As the ale is aged in fresh bourbon barrels, the sweetness of caramel and vanilla are imparted upon the brew and complement its spicier base. At 10 percent alcohol by volume (ABV), this robust, limited release seasonal makes for a flavorful sipping beer to slowly warm up with as the weather cools. Some retailers will be offering collectible jack-o-latern snifters along with the ale.

Bright gold color with almost no head and little oily lacing. Aroma has strong pumpkin. Flavor is sweet and tangy, with spicyness, cinnamon and pumpkin. Sharp alcohol up front but finishes with pure pumpkin. Better than I thought it’d be

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours a clear copper with a thin white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of pumpkin, vanilla, bourbon, spice, hints of stone fruit. The taste is pumpkin, spice, vanilla, bourbon, pale malt. Faint bitterness. Medium bodied.

Bottle, ’thanks’ to Drake. Deep amber pour with hardly any head whatsoever. The nose is of allspice, strong caramel and vanilla. Caramelized pears. Taste of strong caramel. Decent spice. Ginger and cinnamon. Vanilla. Actually not bad considering the brewery’s other efforts.

Draft. Amber pour. Smell of booze and pumpkin pie. The flavor is just wretched here. Feels like bourbon was dumped into the beer, harsh and boozy, pumpkin spice vomit, ipecac and sweetness.

12 oz bottle into a tulip. Pours a clear orange with two fingers of white foam. Nose is butterscotch, fake vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Taste is butterscotch and vanilla mostly with underlying spice. Little pumpkin flavor. Smooth and creamy while remaining thin and light. A little alcohol warmth. This is pretty mediocre stuff.

Amber orange pour. Nose of vanilla, oak, pumpkin, and mild spice. Flavor is mild vanilla and dry oak with bourbon, spice and lightly sweet pumpkin. Lingering oak, vanilla, and spice. Rather impressive in my opinion.

Bottle - Pours a beautiful golden amber color with a white thin head. Aroma is spiced, malty. Flavor is spiced, malty, warm and inviting. Easy to sip on going into the fall season. Alcohol is hidden well. Would drink again.

Delicious brew. Smooth with a very subtle pumpkin. Dangerous at 10% as this brew doesn't have a high alcohol finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
