COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale is a barrel-aged ale brewed with Kentucky-sourced pumpkin, richly spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. As the ale is aged in fresh bourbon barrels, the sweetness of caramel and vanilla are imparted upon the brew and complement its spicier base. At 10 percent alcohol by volume (ABV), this robust, limited release seasonal makes for a flavorful sipping beer to slowly warm up with as the weather cools. Some retailers will be offering collectible jack-o-latern snifters along with the ale.

Irn Bru Orange, clear, bubbly white head that dissipates away
Aroma - Spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, bit vegetal, sweet Xmas cake spices, no hops, gingerbread, a bit weird
Taste as aroma, no surprises, less vegetal that aroma, just spices, little complexity, sweet malts, some alcohol
Palate - soft carb, unusually thin for the abv. Finish of sweet spicy malts
Overall - Just spices and soft malts, rather strange, not that great, but easy going for the ABV

Lore (1213) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 18, 2014
dark orange to amber colour, practically no head at all; aroma of honeydew melon, pumpkin some vanilla, whisky notes and caramel; taste is fully dominated by sweetness with intensive bourbon notes and spicy alcohol, maybe some vanilla, and pumpkin - too much and unbalanced sweetness - practically undrinkable

355ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen. Pours clear amber with a dissipating white head. Aroma of vanilla and bourbon. Sweet finish. Not really getting any pumpkin.

Good pumpkin brew. Kind of hard to believe this one is 10% as its so flavorful and hides the alcohol well. Very enjoyable.

bubbleflubber (1853) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Pours an orange-amber into the glass, with a fully diminished head that leaves no lacing. The nose is of pumpkin and pie spices. Flavors have pumpkin meat, malts, sweet spices, bourbon and finish with a sweet pumpkin seed and bourbon-soaked spices that integrate well with the alcohol kiss at the end of the pull. The medium-full body is substantive, complex and full of pumpkin goodness! Nice harvest offering!

beerbill (3537) - Laurel, New York, USA - NOV 7, 2014
12 oz. bottle from Dave’s Bellport Cold Beer and Soda. Pours a lightly hazed orange amber with a thin off-white head that barely made it to the second sip and left scant lace. Very pleasant aroma of bourbon and pumpkin with some notes of vanilla. The flavor is straightforward bourbon with some mild pumpkin and that’s it. No spicing detected and no oakiness either. It’s almost as if the bourbon was added to the glass. Quite boozey with a noticeable burn towards the finish, especially as the beer warms. Medium bodied.

Pours an orangish amber color. Aroma and taste are a good balance of pumpkin, spices, and some bourbon.

Draft at Broadway Brewhouse. The pour is a mild darker orange. The aroma is a perfect mix of bourbon and pumpkin. The taste is nice. Not too much pumpkin, not too much bourbon, but both are present. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very smooth taste from beginning to end. The head is adequate in size but very soft to the touch.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 112714-1. Orange, headless pour like the "Headless Horseman." But I do truly like to have a little head on my beer although some others may not. Otherwise I get a "flat" perception. The aroma is nice with a muted pumpkin spice character and an abundant cinnamon spice character. Decent medium to above medium body. It has some stones. I id not get a whole lot of bourbon on the nose but it seems to sneak in a little more in the flavor. Excluding that, I get a sweet pumpkin and cinnamon sensation in the taste with a clean finish. Sweetness abounds!!!
